ETSINE Business School MBA

Hello!


I have done the ETSINE MBA (you can buy the course for €49 on groupon); we have discussed it in another thread. I have made an Q&A section for those who are interested.


Is it an MBA?

Well, at least in some way, yes. It’s a Spanish Titulo Propio without academic recognition.

Will it be recognized in the US?

Not as an MBA. I will list it under CPD in my curriculum.

But I have heard…

No! There is absolutely no way this is an MBA which leads to a doctorate or anything even remotely like this!!

What do you learn?

The basics of business. A broad, not really in-depth introduction to what business is like. On the paper 400 hours of learning, but I think this is an exaggeration. Oh, and I don’t speak Spanish, but my French is fluent – so, I learned the basics of Business Spanish doing this course, which was an intended side effect.

How are the exams like?

MC tests, no surveillance, no time limit.

Doesn’t that make the exams a joke?

Yes, but on the other hand, but I can say that people have been handed college credits in German brick-and-mortar universities for much less effort, so, well...

Was it worth the time and the money?

Yes, I think so. At least, for me. It was a decent course, I already knew most of the content, but not in Spanish language.

Are there any extra benefits?

There is the opportunity to meet ETSINE alumni on linkedin. Well, I am not on linkedin, but maybe I will change this in the future.

Would you recommend it?

If your goal is to get a decent course which teaches the fundamentals of business in Spanish language and to get a nice certificate for little money, yes.

€49 isn't bad for a Spanish course. Do you have to write any papers or is it all multiple-choice exams?

 

Just MC exams; nothing else!

 

Heriot-Watt has had degree programs like that, but I hear they've been no walk in the park. I heard they've also had essays attached. I think courses based on essays are better at the graduate level because you have to articulate your understanding of the material, but that's just my perspective.

Anyway, this propio program doesn't appear to be backed or certified by an accredited school in Spain. I'd stick with propios offered by or backed/certified by accredited schools as they tend to be dealt with more favorably outside of Spain.

But hey, for 49 euros, if you learned something it was worth it.

 

It says that to enroll you need (among other things), a passport-sized photo and an ID number. Did you have any issues with these? Did you just send in a regular selfie of yourself? What did you do about the ID number?

 

I paid only €29 (they had a special offer for the first x people who enrolled).

 

Yes, that was a little difficult. Their site were not able to proceed my data. The staff, however, was really helpful and I was enrolled in no time (approx. 1 wd)!

 

Correct. This one clearly isn't.

I would like to add that sometimes, you will find that what I personally call hybrid models - you get, say, a Master Propio from an institution like euroinnova. Additionally, you get some ECTS points from an accredited partner institution, but only for a fraction of the effort you put in.

So you didn't need to provide (what I assume is) a Spanish ID number or an ID number of any sort? I'm really just interested in exactly what sort of information an American would need to provide. I'm tempted by the MBA and/or one of the other Unidema/ETSINE "degrees".

 

No, no Spanish ID needed. And they are nice and helpful there. No worries!

Agreed. There are enough propios available that are under the authority of an accredited school that it just makes sense to go that route. Spaniards do recognize the difference, too. In one YouTube video comment section about ENEB for example, the question that kept being asked over and over again was (and I'm translating here) "what accredited school certifies these programs?" So my take is, if Spaniards see that as important enough to ask about it's a cue for the rest of us.

Mac Juli didn't make a bad choice here or anything, I agree there as well. It was € 49.

 

I went ahead and purchased one of these Unidema "degrees" for 30€. Not the MBA, this one is just digital marketing, wedding planning, and communication/oration. I've seen Udemy courses for just digital marketing that cost more than that and the whole thing seems to fit my goals nicely. Hopefully, with this, I'll get to better Spanish fluency. I doubt I'll even list it on my CV/resume at all. I would list an ENEB degree but not this one. Hard to beat 30€ for a Spanish immersion course, though.

I'll definitely do so! The Groupon is good until February and I have a bunch of XAMK classes between now and then so I probably won't get started for at least a couple of months.

 

Finished a triple titulo propio from Unidema. I did the digital marketing and monetization, mba and communication program.
It was 600 hours in total.
The content was nice.
The exams were good too.
I liked the program in general.
The certificate was ugly.
I put it on my cv but stated that it's propio.
My employer accepted it for my employee file.
I paid 69 euro.
