Uh oh! I can just see another multi-post message by my friend DesElms. His theory seems to be that this is a public board and so it would be good to be nice, play fair, share your toys with other girls and boys, and pass the information please. I tend to agree with him.

I agree as well but, it is a PDF file that is many pages long. It can't be posted here.

I would be glad to but I don't think it is possible. If it is I don't know how.

rock, i am sending it over.

I would not go to ED for any degree programs. They withdrew from Regional Accreditation in June.

I would only take a diploma program from there. I recieved my Teacher Aide diploma from them and can't use it at all to teach in a school as a Teacher Aide. Now I'm going back for my dog grooming diploma and going to wGU for my BA in Science.

Be very careful with their degree programs....

When using a degree for teaching there should be every measure taken to ensure that you are getting what you need.

If you are planning to transfer to a school that is takes DETC or ACE reviewed courses you should be fine. You should always check to make sure though.

Since Bush passed the "No Child Left Behind" act changing from diploma to associate degree, ED should have changed their diplomas. It is false advertising. They state you can teach in a school with their diploma, but in reality, you need an Associate Degree.

Every State has their own laws concerning where you can and can't teach.

I don't think that ED should stop trying to sell their program because folks don't know what the laws are in their state.

If one goes through the trouble to get a degree, I would think that it would be a good idea for that person do due diligence to find out what they are purchasing.

Aspen has a MS program for nursing and it doesn't fullfill the requirements for all states. As a matter of fact it satisfies the requirements of only a few states. Should they stop their program based on that?

There are programs that are DL that don't help people in many states.

Consumers should always look out for themselves and not look for others to blame.

This post doesn't make much sense. ED was never regionally accredited. If you mean they withdrew their CANDIDACY for RA, you would be correct. I don't know the reason for that.

As far as I know, you can't be a teacher's aid ANYWHERE with only a diploma. I'm pretty sure you have to be at least a student in an actual degree program. Many of ED's courses are accredited by ACE, which means they should transfer to many RA schools.
