    Jimmy,
You post here long enough to realise this is a DL forum, not a duck forum. Among contributers here, who's even qualify (or care) to post about duck peservation? In New Zealand? Now degree mills are the whole other story. Dr. Hayes chose to actively defend them - what did he/you expect?

Besides, Uncle Janko did endorse the duck dissertation.

Evidently you haven't been around here long enough to know there is an "Off Topic" category even though you just posted to it.

What's your post have to do with DL?

With a name like Stanislav isn't this thinking somewhat provincial?

This is off topic forum so you needn't take it so alliterally!

    good dissertation, hopeless "schools"

Yes, I did indeed admire the duck dissertation, and I have no reason to think that were I to reread it now that opinion would change at all. Yes, I think it was of doctoral calibre, as far as I could tell of a diss in a field unrelated to any minor academic expertise I possess. Yes, I am willing to call him Dr Hayes despite the following--and despite his following elsewhere. Yes, I think Neil Hayes made an extraordinarily bad choice of institutions, one that I do not admire and do not think can be defended a-tall. Yes, I think that the attempt to build Neil Hayes up at the expense of Rich Douglas is futile, and the attempt to claim that Knightsbridge is superior to Union (a school I don't like, as it happens) is palpably absurd.

    My dear friend Jimmy:

Just what in blue hell is wrong with the name Stanislav???

    Hi Uncle Janko,

I just know in my spirit this is a rhetorical question and you know the context of my remark, especially coming from someone whose mother's maiden name is Gottfried. ;)

Either there is a basis for this "ridicule" or there is not. What causes it? If it isn't the fact that Hayes claims doctorates from two "schools" with no recognition as such, and then goes on to defend them vigorously, what is it? The ducks?

You make it sound like he was selected randomly for abusive treatment. No, that guy gets exactly what he deserves. Maybe a lot less.

Shooting the messenger, Jimmy? If you look back on this thread, you're the one who brought up criticisms of Hayes.

And don't tell me what to do. As if you had any business doing so.

Help me out here, Jimmy. What has Gottfried to do with it? I don't get it.

Now here's weird. A poster on another site quotes my criticism of Hayes but not my praise from the yes...yes post above. Seems odd. After all, Hayes can read the stuff here (and post if he wished), and find out for himself all of what I said.

It's "Off Topic" category on a DL forum, Jimmy. People here have 2 things in common: 1) Can write English to a certain degree and 2)Care about DL. The only person registered here to know about NZ Brown Teal is Dr. Hayes. (well, I guess Janko knows about it, too, having read the book)
On the other had, hordes of people here know about mills. Duck topic would be very short indeed, if not for the TCU and Kingsbridge connection.

I was making a point someone with name like Jimmy would understand.
Seriously, I don't expect to find company here to talk about Ukrainian politics on this forum. Even in the "Off topic" section. Why ducks?

    P. S. I have nothing against Hayes. I think he's entertaining. Especially with comments like "faschist, anti-tourism ODA". :D

Perhaps you should take a couple days and reread some of your own postings to others with whom you have had vehement disagreements.

I more than likely misunderstood your original question about what's wrong with Stanislav.

I was trying to imply that since Stanislav is a foreign name and since he perhaps lives in a foreign country posting on an American DL board, that he should not be so narrow in his thinking that since the Brown Teal is native to Austrailia that we, in the rest of the world, shouldn't care what happens to it.

Such is the nature of Internet communications.

Yes, I caught that too. You are perhaps the most fair-minded person on this board when it comes to objective evaluation of schools, dissertations, etc.

The same poster has been critical about some DI posters discussing Dr. Hayes.

Yet, he began a thread asking where a certain person is that hasn't posted on here in a few months with the obvious intention of getting negative, hate-filled follow up's.

Um, Jimmy, Stanislav or Stanislaw is not a "foreign" name. (Nor is Gottfried, while we're at it.) It's just not a British-Isles-derived name. (Although one finds Stanislaus occasionally--the Latinisation). Nuf sed. Truly.

Thanks for your kind words, too, and your trenchant observation d'outre-mer.

Say not the struggle nought availeth...and all that.

Now you know what I meant. :)

And you're welcome. I always try to be fair but sometimes fall short.

Dennis Ruhl of Whitecourt, Alberta, an accountant, and friend of Neil Hayes...

... or one of his friends has been engineering an extraordinary series of posts on aed about me (among others). How do I know this? A banned poster "Redlyne Racer", approving of this, told me that he was encouraging Mr Ruhl to do this. Mr Ruhl has also indicated elsewhere that he has investigated my ancestry as far as he considers himself able to do so. Mr Ruhl or one of his friends has engineered a post recommending fraud be committed by using my social security number--how interesting for an accountant to promote this. Mr Ruhl or one of his friends has also caused to be posted the following charmer--slightly edited by me:

"Birthday wishes to [Uncle Janko]. A tragic death in an auto
accident would be nice. Dismemberment and/or decapitation would be a bonus. Perhaps a raging fire as he is pinned behind the wheel, awaiting help that never arrives. All a deserving prelude to an afterlife earned by his hypocrisy."

While it is nice to know one has an adoring public, I am afraid that they have underestimated everyone who knows me in what passes for real life this side of gan eden, and that their theology is not very good, either. My afterlife has been earned by the holy innocent bitter sufferings and death of my Lord Jesus Christ, not by anything good, bad, or indifferent about me.

Why post this? Simple. There might be some newbie, or even some irony-deficient regular poster, who does not understand what makes degreeinfo--not the two salons des refuses--the only real game in town on general distance education. There might be some regular poster who does not understand that one of the other boards, sometimes praised hereabouts, serves conspicuously (check their stats) simply as a portal for the ridiculous aed.

I trust all of you are having as nice a day as I have had: counselling parishioners, observing some truly hsiao hsiao-ren online, reading in a lovely book by Levenson called "Confucian China and its Modern Fate", enjoying more stinking hot weather and a beautiful sunset, and right now starting to fear that if I sound any closer to a greeting card I shall puke.

    Shehecheyanu, etc.

    Despicable, simply despicable!

Sounds like your day was similar to mine. I counseled a parishoner, read a systematic theology book, conducted general church business, and tolerated more hot weather with a few thunder showers.
