Main default webpage mentions they're "Approved" and work In Collaboration with Edx - Cool!
Here is their fees page, amazingly cheap for international students even! $2700 for BBA or MBA!
I think it's USD but the site doesn't say! Link: DY Patil College MBA Fees Structure (dypatilonline.com)

Note: The institution has several divisions or butt-in-seat schools, the Business division is currently the only one offering online certs/courses and degrees.

Their website checks all the usual boxes as far as India is concerned. UGC, AICTE etc. They also state they're WES-approved. Anybody applying from this side might be wise to confirm that - and that it extends to the distance degrees. I'm not suggesting it wouldn't - but it's prudent to confirm, I think.

If it all checks out - it's a bargain. At $2,700 the MBA is about half the current price of one from a known good Indian distance U. - Don Bosco Global. It's not far below Hellenic American U - which is RA at $3,000.

I have no problem whatsoever with the 'Vidyapeeth" label or its proprietary name. US employers etc. might give it a bit of side-eye - but if it checks out... all good, I suppose. Unless the hiring people ask "How's your Hindi?" - (or, more likely, Marathi, in this case.) Just kidding. :) This might be just the thing for someone interested in an education handled by the other side of the world. That kind of learning can open doors (and windows).

Looks like a good find, to me.

WES approved? Never heard of that term. WES is neither an accreditation nor an approval agency. They are supposed to vet each qualification on its own merit. I think that school is being deceptive or ignorant.

That is certainly possible, Chris, but I looked at it a bit differently. I took it as meaning this: the school is claiming that WES gives their degrees positive evaluations, e.g. MBAs have been given equivalence to one from a known good school (RA, in US). And that's what I'd be asking WES. And yes - accreditation and approval are BOTH definitely the wrong words - perhaps I was hasty in ascribing another meaning; I tend to do that sometimes, when dealing with non-standard English - e.g. much of India. Then again, there's none of that to worry about with your Indian Alma Mater - Assam Don Bosco. Maybe I'm getting too lenient in my old age -- we'll have to see. :)

I'd really like to know if WES (or any properly qualified Credential Evaluator has, in fact, been known to assign a good equivalence to degrees of this school. Especially distance degrees, of course.

Bin Thinkin (my favorite terrorist.) If I have to interpret a school's statements - create and ascribe meanings etc. - I probably shouldn't. So I won't. Chris is right (as he usually is.) The school is probably a wrong move, if they don't know how to say properly what they mean. Or, as Chris points out, they are possibly being ... um - deceptive, as he put it.

I've taken a couple of courses that originated in India: Psych. of Language from a PhD professor at an IIT and Programming from a private (non-degree) school. In both cases, it was a great experience. Neither school had the semantics problems we're dealing with at the Vidyapeeth. And yeah - I know what a Vidyapeeth is and I would be OK with seeing it on my diploma. But who else, around here, other than first-generation Indian immigrants would? It means basically "college" and this one is a deemed university, per UGC. "Vid" is a root of Sanskrit origin meaning knowledge. (Also sight - but that's another chapter.)

Total cost of my two courses was around $30 plus a few bucks extra for the certs. This is $2700. For that much, NOTHING should be shrouded in mystery.
    I'm out. :(
