You want to hear my gut feeling? The underlying reason for this "democratic process" is that SOME Republicans are just unsatisfied with USA as a nation. And want to secede, in all but name. This is why they are defending the traitor Confederate flag, that's why they try to weaken the people's government by fighting against "tax and spend" (which is, btw, just US Constitution Article 2 - the main instrument the people use to govern), defunding the IRS and, now, trying to do the same with the FBI - and why they are undermining the institutions that make this country a single nation. From the freaking Post Office to schools. Especially the schools, because of how fundamental they are. A public school is the place where young Americans from different "tribes" have to come together and learn to coexist - without killing each other. Can't have that, need the right to have their little segregation academies.

I went to the Fox News page today for the very first time. It was like looking at a right-wing version of the Daily Beast, not a news site. And I couldn't find anything on the Dominion settlement until I used the search function and found a little and incomplete article buried somewhere.

    It was...shocking. And not.

There are competing or opposing ideologies, so there are politicians on both sides of the spectrum that say the other side hates America or hates USA as a nation, but in reality they all want a better country, yet their vision
is different. People voting for the candidates that they hope will advance and fight for their interests.
I hear exactly the same arguments that you bring, as one side claims the other side weaponizes or de-funding the agencies you mentioned and use for political gain.
I'm against weakening of the public institutions. We depend on them to guard our freedom & liberty.

It seems to me that today's Republicans care a lot more about "owning the Dems" than about wanting a better country.

There is a similar movement going on here in Ohio. A Republican Senator is moving for school choice for all. So ALL parents would get a set amount for private school. We currently have EdChoice, which applies to those who live in a failing school district and those who meet certain financial criteria. She wants to expand it. I sat in on a presentation she gave at my son's school. According to her, there are MILLIONS of dollars that go unused every year. I don't know if that is true, but she made the mistake of giving this talk to a community that hasn't been able to pass a school levy in decades. Our district is closing schools left and right. They want to pass a bond to build a new school, but it never passes. Many people asked how her Bill would impact the local school district. Her answer was, they'd have to come to the taxpayers to pass a levy, so it would be up to us. She said the local districts get the same amount of local tax money whether they have one student or 10,000.

As a parent, I'd love to get money for my kid's tuition.
As a charter school employee and taxpayer, I feel like there are a lot of flaws with her proposal.

She claimed she had bipartisan support. When a parent asked who is co-sponsoring the bill with her, she said no one.

For anyone interested, this is her proposal: https://ohiosenate.gov/legislation/135/sb11

I would like to hear a list of 5 things that they want to do for the country. Not what they hate. Not what they want to deconstruct. Just 5 new things to make our country better.

Very simple, just look at the the last Republican platform from 2020. I'll copy the important part here just so it's clear.

    quote: RESOLVED, That the Republican Party has and will continue to enthusiastically support the President’s America-first agenda;

True that is not five things but it was nice of them to admit that the platform would be whatever nonsense Trump spewed. [sarcasm off]

Question: which side is in the habit of flying the traitor Confederate flag? Which side generated the brilliant strategem "to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub"? These 20 people who signed the letter filled with khuylo's talking points - which party? Where would you find mainstream politicians (including the expected favorite of the Presidential primary) on record supporting Jan. 6 insurrection?
It used to be the case that one could pin Soviet sympathy rep on the Left - far Left, that is. Now, anti-American narrative is firmly on the Right.

...which makes you a Democrat. You should simply start voting accordingly.

The other shoe has dropped on the extremely poor news outlet, Fox News, at least at MediaBiasFactCheck.com.

Here's the latest rating. Note the very extreme bias rating and the mixed accuracy rating.

Here's the latest CNN rating. Note the left bias rating and the mostly factual accuracy rating.

Way better than the horrible Fox rating.

I saw some advertisements for a new (2020) news site that I haven't ever watched. NewsNation. They have a perfect rating!

    Any opinions?

Hang on. Not a fair comparison. MSNBC does almost all commentary. They do almost no news. Commentary, everywhere, is often provided by guests. Yes, I'd rather that everything that ever gets said on MSNBC was 100% true.

Fox Business rates higher than MSNBC, but that's because Fox Business is very news- and fact-oriented. I would imagine even the commentary on their is more accurate because it is not very political.

Perhaps a bit of a nitpick, while it's true that accuracy with Fox and MSNBC are the same, MSNBC is rated left bias which is much better than extreme bias.

Regarding NewsNation, has anyone seen that? It is not available to me based on my current cable program. Anyone seen NewsNation? (channel 307)
