I selected Gore. The best way to keep the GOP in the white house.

I don't know why I forgot her, she's perhaps the smartest person in the White House. I wish she was more visible, she seems to have taken a backseat to Powell & Rumsfeld since 9/11, at least publically. Unfortunately, she's most famous for Ariel Sharon commenting on her "nice legs" (which are nice, BTW).

Alright, you mentioned it first & I debated saying something but then thought I would be PC. I agree that Condoleeza Rice has nice legs. Attractive, young and bright.

    DCross' comments are significant.

The Great Society, however well-intentioned, created an enormous beauracracy whose servants have a vested interest, not in the eradication of poverty or the empowerment of the poor (black, white, brown, yellow, or red), but in the perpetuation of the beauracracy!

I will vote for whoever runs against GWB in 2004. But I hope it ain't Gore.

Nosborne, a Democrat, who is PART of the beauracracy!

Although this quote is most frequently attributed (erroneously) to Winston Churchill, at various times (and, of course, with slight variations), it has also been attributed to Wendell L. Willkie, George Bernard Shaw, Aristide Briand, William Casey, Woodrow Wilson, Otto Von Bismarck, Georges Clemenceau, and François Guisot, and Benjamin Disraeli.

    • ”Any man who is under 25 and is not a liberal has no heart; and any man who is over 30 and not a conservative has no brains.”
It might, however, shed some light on why the majority of members of this forum are middle-aged, well educated, Republicans. ;)

What's interesting is that I was a liberal when I was 25. I was still black too.

    Bwa ha ha ha!

The one thing that nobody can accuse Ariel Sharon of being is PC.

He's right about Condoleeza Rice, though.

    Demorcratic hopefuls

I am hopeful that Demorcrats lose big in the future and that we have many conservative pro-business and pro defence Republicans in office for generations to come.

Joe Biden, the plagiarizer in chief?

It was hilarious back in the late 80s when he was caught lifting whole paragraphs from Neil Kinnock's speeches. That would be found out even faster today, what with the Internet publishing speeches from all over.

If Joe were elected prez, all we'd have to do is read Tony Blair this week to know what Joe will say next week! :D

Well, I "resigned" from the DL forum and will try this one. Hopefully I will find more civility on here. I enjoy debate and discourse and this post interests me. I will vote to reelect the President if he continues as he is but I voted for Bradley here. He is somewhat more liberal than I but at least he is honest. I liked McCain for the same reason. I really don't mind voting for someone who is either to the left or right of me as long as they are intellectually honest. For a real refreshing change see the web site of Arkansas Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller. As a Rockefeller Republican I like this guy and hope he runs for higher office. His site can be viewed at http://www.state.ar.us/ltgov/about.html

Is Jimmy Clifton intellectually honest? Whenever you are pointing one finger at another person, three of your own fingers are inexorably pointing at you.

If you folks could please resist the temptation to drag the other thread over here, that would be greatly appreciated--I'm more than happy to see rancor in this discussion, but it should all be political in nature. :p

    Cheers,
