Terms and Services

This is an agreement made between you, the registrant and user of the DegreeInfo.com discussion board and related services ("You") and DegreeInfo.com ("Degreeinfo"), providers of the distance learning discussion boards and other content and services on the DegreeInfo.com Web site and related sites. The DegreeInfo.com site is intended for discussion and commentary on issues related to distance learning. Questions, opinions, viewpoints, and commentary (along with the occasional off-topic but humorous banter) are all welcomed, but personal attacks, flooding, spamming, shilling, or the posting of potentially libelous or defamatory information is not.

The administrators and moderators of Degreeinfo do not review every post, although the board is lightly moderated. Considering the real-time nature of this bulletin board, it would be impossible for us to review every message or confirm the validity of information posted. Therefore, Degreeinfo is not responsible for the content of any messages posted, nor do we warrant the accuracy, completeness, truthfulness, or usefulness of any message; the messages posted on Degreeinfo express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Degreeinfo or any entity associated with Degreeinfo. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email ([email protected]). We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make a reasonable effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

By posting messages at Degreeinfo, You agree, through Your use of this service, that You will not use Degreeinfo to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by You or by this BB. You further agree not to post advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, solicitations, or posts made for the primary purpose of promoting any particular program for commercial or individual gain.

You recognize that You remain solely responsible for the content of Your messages, and You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Degreeinfo and its administrators and moderators and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of Your message(s). You understand and agree that any post You make may be edited or deleted by a forum moderator or administrator, for any reason or for no reason whatsoever. (In most cases, however, messages will not be edited or deleted unless they violate the Terms of Service [this document].)

You further agree that while the copyright to posts You make to Degreeinfo remain under Your ownership, You acknowledge that in consideration for the services and access to this BB provided to You by Degreeinfo, the sufficiency of which You acknowledge, You grant an unconditional license to Degreeinfo to use, publish, republish, share, relicense, or distribute the information and/or the posts that You make to Degreeinfo, in any way that Degreeinfo sees fit, in any media currently available or as may become available in the future, without further remuneration to You.

Your license to use this BB is limited to a SINGLE LOGIN IDENTITY. Any user suspected of posting under multiple identities (even in the case of multiple individuals using the same computer) may, at Degreeinfo's discretion, have all identities deleted, and may be permanently banned from using the BB service. For similar reasons, we do not permit posting to the BB through the use of anonymizing Web services, and we reserve the right to delete messages posted using such services and/or ban such services from access to Degreeinfo. While we respect Your privacy, we also reserve the right to reveal Your identity (or whatever information we know about You) in the event of legal action arising from any message posted by You, or in the event that You materially violate our terms of service in a way that is harmful or disruptive of the forum and/or its members.

The collection of current and archived user posts, articles, and other information provided on Degreeinfo is the sole property of DegreeInfo.com, and may not be used for any commercial purpose or extracted, mined, or otherwise harvested for any purpose or use whatsoever (other than for personal enrichment or study) without written permission from Degreeinfo.

From time to time, Degreeinfo may modify or add to these Terms of Service; it is Your responsibility to periodically review them. By continuing to use Degreeinfo on or after such modification, You agree to the new terms provided. If You do not agree, You may email [email protected] of Your disagreement, and Your registration and membership privileges will be terminated. However, You will still be bound by the terms of service that were in force at the time You registered to use the service.
