    Firstly, if the author feels so strongly about "decolonizing" knowledge, why is she doing her doctorate at Cambridge, and writing this article in English?

    Secondly, no one is stopping institutions in low income countries from offering MOOCs. On the contrary, edX releases their software as open source so that anyone can become a MOOC provider, and the author even manages to complain about that.

    Sorry, but all I see here is a reminder that some people have made up their minds to be unhappy.

    There is definitely some ironies in the story. There is nothing preventing other cultures from using mooclike education. Many indigenous languages are being saved because of this kind of technology.
    Mooc has always been overated.

    The "end of universities as we know them!" hype was absurd, but MOOCs work fine for their original purpose of being a vehicle for continuing education, and they also work well as a freemium model for credit courses.
