I'm hoping to study Library Science by distance learning. Does anyone know of any universities that offer Associate/Bachelor level LS courses by distance learning or by learning contract?

Also, do you know of any colleges that will do the same for:

    Hymnology
Texas History (for students outside of Texas)
Anything pertaining to writing comic books.

(Yes, I have a wide variety of interests...)

Orville, I'm curious; what's the advantage of taking LS undergraduate courses? I thought most positions--outside the school system--require master's degrees from ALA-approved programs, for which no specific undergraduate major is required.

Or did I answer my own question?

(I'd thought at one time of going for Syracuse's short-term residency MLS when I lived in Japan.)

Stupid question: Why would your Texas History course have to be Texas history for non-Texans? Also, I'm guessing you'd check out schools like University of Houston www.uh.edu , University of Texas www.telecampus.utsystem.edu , Texas A & M University www.tamu.edu , and Texas Tech University www.de.ttu.edu to find out what they've got.

I just PMed my old buddy Tireman, a PhD student in History at the University of Houston and have received his reply. He says that online Texas history classes are available at Houston Community College www.hcc.edu and North Harris Montgomery Community College www.nhmccd.edu and the Texas history classes are 2300 and up. By the way, if you're out there and reading this, thanks, Tireman!
