I've almost made up my mind about enrolling with COSC for my bachelor's, just have a few more ???

trying to figure out the time frame, ideally, I want to finish by the end of this year but was wondering if this is feasible and if so what would be the best approach?

?1. Which degree would work best for the credits I have (major/concentration not a big issue)

?2. What are the gen ed requirements if any and how do my credits match up to them?

?3. Cost wise, I am a CT resident and veteran so I should qualify for the 50% tuition waiver.
I also have the post 9/11 gibill and i'm certain i'd qualify for a good amount of financial aid.
I don't have the resources to pay out of pocket and was wondering if this should cover me? Also, i'm considering taking classes at my local Comm Coll in CT since some of their classes are free for veterans.

Cost is a big issue, and time, need to finish this asap.

I have considered testing out of some courses if possible but wasn't sure which tests COSC accepts.....and which is least expensive? Any sugestions on which easy ones I could take?

Advice & suggestions welcomed and appreciated.

I believe you'll find that the responses you get will be of two varieties:

    1. People who have gone to COSC that will give you how they completed their degrees as an example.

    2. People who tell you that the only way they can help you is to tell you to contact the school and be patient in waiting for a reply.

You won't get a definitive answer from the denizens of the forum unless you're lucky enough that there's an COSC Admissions rep on the membership list.

    Best,

While you're waiting for those responses you might fill the time by doing a search using COSC as a keyword. Our search function is not perfect but it will turn up past threads where COSC was discussed. Most people who bring up any of the "BIG 3" have very similar questions/concerns and so you may find some relevant info provided. Good luck and keep the questions coming.

Here is my advice - contact COSC directly. COSC has excellent customer service. Have your transcripts sent there and receive the official word from them. They will be happy to go through different scenarios with you.

    Good luck!

41 of your units may be professional credits - check to see what the limit is at COSC.

If you can't use all of them check out the BSLS at Excelsior college (EC) - you can apply up to 59 professional credits there

EC does not take PE credits

By the way CCAF is also RA.

No problem -- Charter Oak requires at least sixty credits of liberal arts for a Bachelor's degree, which means the other sixty can be professional studies: Liberal Arts Requirements at Charter Oak State College

Anyway, as an alumnus I also encourage you to contact the school. They'll respond helpfully!

I also graduated from COSC. They are great to work with all answered dozens of my questions before I gave them a nickel. It is always best to go to the source for the most accuate and up to date answers.
