You made a false assertion about me, then did nothing to acknowledge your mistake, nor correct the record.
Let's leave that conversation where it is. As stated on the Microversity thread,my memory with regard to that conversation may be completely erroneous. Should we decide, in due time, my memory of this scheme is completely erroneous, I will be delighted to apologize, and retract my statement. In the meantime, you,sir, are no Cornel West.
That seems a rather low standard. If you made a claim based on memory but can't back it up (I also checked the archives but not exhaustively and couldn't find anything), shouldn't the apology come now and the retraction later if you find proof? It feels unfair to only apologize once some arbitrary time period of you not backing it up has elapsed, while the original false statement stands.
