I have completed my last paper for my MS – ITM from TUI. It was a great feeling and I felt the weight of the world lifted from my shoulders.

That great feeling lasted almost five minutes because I completed my online application for NCU’s PhD program. I am very excited because I never thought I would ever get this far.

I found this board in April 2001, which was two months after I started on my BS from CCU. Since that time I have completed two CCU degrees, a BS from COSC, and now an MS – ITM from TUI. Not bad for someone that wanted to drop out of high school in 1985!

I want to thank everyone on this board for all the information they have posted; it made earning a degree easier and I appreciated the words of encouragement throughout the way.

I will post my experiences with NCU when I start the program.

    Congrats

    Randell,

Congratulations and please don’t allow anybody, especially some folks who post on this forum, to dissuade you from pursuing NCU PhD program unless that person has plausible and verifiable information to buttress his or her claims.

I have listen to, or read, all the feedback on NCU and I am prepared to make my own decision.

    Thank you.

    NCU vs TUI

    Hi Randell,

Why didn't you pick TUI for your Ph.D. study?

    Re: NCU vs TUI

I did not pick TUI for several reasons:
    1) They did not want me:D The PhD program is not accepting new students at this time

    2) The cost of TUI is $2,000 per class and 4 semesters per year. If I took one class per semester to meet the "continuous enrollment" requirement, it would equal $8,000 per year. I get $4,000 per year in tuition assistance, which means it would cost $4,000 per year out of pocket.

    3) NCU costs $475 per credit and they have 3 semesters per year. If I took one class per semester to meet the "continuous enrollment" requirement, it would equal $4,275 per year. That is only $275 per year out of pocket plus books.

    4) I can take 18 credits with an MGT prefix and qualify to teach management classes at a community college.

    5) Because I can!!!!!

Really, the cost is a major factor. I do not need a PhD and can not justify paying a lot of money out of pocket.
