I have no problem with anything Dr. Lady has ever done in his entire life, with the possible exception of that time in Miss Fitzwinkle's 3rd class when he [oh, never mind]. Using stock photos of students and classrooms and school facilities happens to be one of the things that Allen Ezell and I list as possible signs of a diploma mill. I'm sure many fine schools do it as well, and they had the nerve never to ask for my opinion.

If I were selling (for instance) defibrillators or carburetors, is it OK if I buy a stock shot of someone using one that isn't mine, to use on my website?

Yes that was me that attacked you and I apologize. I didn't think before I posted that. I felt like I was posting about an anonymous actor in a video, not a real person and board member. Sorry for that. That was my own unfiltered and unapologetic response to the video but it was in very poor taste.

LOL. Plus, Paul's eyesight wasn't so good, so my money is on Moses too.

    Comfort Foods

Most people eat far more than what is needed by the body, especially as they get older.

there was previously a joke about an axe murdering maniac coming coming up the driveway. This was a continuation of that joke.

99% of peoples' weight management problems is due to them eating too much food. Everyone should catalog their intake periodically. Just write it down as the day goes by and track calories, fat, carbs, and protein. My fitness pal is a free app that helps you do this. You will be shocked in how many calories you take in. Just by writing it down, you will lose weight because your natural tendency to overeat will run up against your rational mind. Its like tracking your spending.

Well, since we are way off-topic anyway...

That 1% of outliers still consists of a whole lot of people and for that reason, among others, I have a policy of not judging one's self-dicipline based on appearance alone.

In my case, all the exercise, fruits, vegetables and lean protein (with careful calorie charting) gave me loads of energy, but did little to change my body. That is, until the exercise started to include 3 regular strength training workoits weekly. When you lift, it not only burns calories, but pushes your body to turn a portion of your excess calories into muscle rather than to store it as fat. Then, once you have more muscle, your metabolic rate increases slightly, but that slight increase adds up to hundreds of calories per month.

Muscle building also has the advantage that you are SUPPOSED to eat more. I like that dietary model better than its alternatives :)

    Maniac,
I would also add that if one wants to lose weight then its best to forget cardio altogethe, unless it is intense, meaning more than an hour's worth of effort. Weightlifting is far more productive, safer and an efficient use of time if you stick with the big basics of squats, deadlifts, benchpress, overhead press and rows.

Back to the topic, unlike most of us, David Lady is actually doing something about the cost of professional education.
