It's to early in the game but the poll is interesting https://www.cnn.com/polling/approval-rating-poll-of-polls https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/09/07/politics/cnn-poll-joe-biden-headwinds/index.html#amp_ct=1694105897832&_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=16941058893212&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com Not the best poll for current admin. But if I'm not mistaken Obama had 40% approval in early poll but then won. Any thoughts?
My thought is that the election is fourteen months away, and for polling purposes that might as well be fourteen million years from now. Sometimes I wish the US had snap elections.
Ot at least shorter campaigning windows Many other countries you start campaigning 3 months to 2 weeks before the election. In the 2020 US election, the earliest candidate to declare (Yang) did so in 2017.
Obama and Clinton both had similar poll numbers at this point. It is WAY too early to make any predictions about the 2024 election season based on polls.
Trump declared for 2020 right after he won in 2016. He did it for fundraising purposes, but it's safe to say he campaigned throughout his term in office.
