Child Predation Defendant Had Used Fake Doctorate to Become School Counselor

Hiring a rapist is one thing, but overpaying him? What were they thinking?

Note that his alleged victim is NOT a student at the district where he worked. (She is a family member.) Looks like both the district (in hiring him) and state officials (for certifying his fake credentials) are at fault in his hiring, but otherwise have nothing to do with his crime.

It doesn't appear the position he held required licensure. But it DID give him access to small children.

He's being held on bail set at $1.05 million. I have to wonder where the .05 comes from? Service fee for using a credit card? Unpaid parking tickets?

 

I had a background check, including a criminal fingerprint-type check when I was hired as a community college adjunct... anyone able to explain how a grade school can hire someone without a similar check?
