    Well, Greg, if I must . . . :D

I’m delighted that copper decided to stick with us, although I think he might be heading down the slippery slope of me again by becoming irrelevant.

I have to admit, though, that I can almost empathize with copper, since he grew up on Long Island. As a retired long distance trucker, I know what it’s like having to navigate the BQE and LIE.*

As for me, I have a long-time personal policy never to engage in diatribes on five particular subject areas: politics, race, religion, sex, and sports. (You’ll notice that I never participate in any of the political threads here on DI.)

But I am, on rare occasion, willing to tell sick jokes about any of the above. So, for copper, I’m happy to provide yet another link: https://chartcons.com/100-funny-holocaust-jokes/.

Be that as it may, my people came from Russia. Therefore, I can identify more with Fiddler on the Roof than Schindler’s List. In fact, I remember when the movie version of Fiddler was shown one evening at a (Christian) seminary at which I taught. I happened to walk into the auditorium and saw what was on the screen. “Hey,” I said, “Roots!” The place cracked up.

As for DI, I have always preferred that the board stay on topic (which is hardly about to happen). Quel dommage . . .
