The Digital Teaching and Learning Series https://universitybusiness.com/blackboard-awards-more-than-1000-certifications-through-digital-teaching-and-learning-series/
Lately Blackboard has been in trouble. They've lost many key institutions/customers to Canvas. They've also had their relationship with Moodle disintegrating. A reinvigorated effort of supporting "teaching excellence", as they refer to it, by helping faculty members learn the full capabilities of their platform - is a great endeavor!
One problem is that a lot of the instructing online is done by adjuncts who have absolutely no time for all the bells and whistles because they are chained to rubrics and quotas. Secondly, the students will not take advantage of the many extras unless forced. One simple, example, most LMS' now have the ability for an instructor to leave audio or even video grading feedback for students. But in my experience, the students don't even bother to listen to it. The institutions I teach for seem to feel the same because after having stressed it, they haven't mentioned this form of feedback in years, instead falling back on the rubrics and Salesforce type monitoring of adjuncts. The future of LMS' may be less is more.
