I'm with Rich. Rating doctoral degree programs is like rating ice cream flavors. It depends on individual needs, preferences, learning style, expertise, field, future expectations/plans, etc. I do like my ice cream to be high quality tho!! So I'd want it to come from a reputable, regionally-accredited ice cream provider (if US)!!! I don't like that melty, imitation stuff being dished out by the rest. Barry Foster

For engineering University of Maryland Colorado State University University of Alabama - Huntsville Indiana State University Institute of Paper Science and Technology ------------------ M. C. (Mike) Albrecht, PE
Mike's choices are all fine schools* but the question was about distance learning doctorates, and I don't believe any of those five would qualify. _______ * I was pleased to learn about the Institute of Paper Science, which was new to me, but clearly not to the world of academia; it has been around for more than 70 years, and is regionally accredited.

I have been researching DL programs in Engineering Management and I believe that four of them do have ones, even if they do have a requirement for some on site time. University Of Maryland has, I believe, a DL program in Reliabiltiy at the PhD level that is also mostly DL. I could be wrong, but all of the ones listed have web sites that reference there programs as primarily DL. ------------------ M. C. (Mike) Albrecht, PE
Rather surprised to see the University of Phoenix listed here --- also, as an Alumnus of Liberty I believe they have a great school, but to be rated number 4 with their doctorates - aren't the Ed.D. and the D.Min the only distance doctorates they offer? ------------------ Howard Rodgers
