The fact is that she passed the baby bar, which is necessary to progress towards eventually passing the CA bar. Congrats to her!

While skirting the fact that, as an unaccredited school (which they acknowledge), their students are not eligible for Federal financial aid. They have a "we don't participate" statement, but they finesse it by saying the program is inexpensive and, thus, student loans are unnecessary. The problem with that is that it's kinda true. Tuition for the program is $10K, and I assume it's payable over time. That's a little over $200 per month, plus fees. I just wish they were more straight-forward. They're not accredited so they can't offer student loans, not because they opt not to participate.

    Still, it's pretty inexpensive.

Yes it is but don't underestimate the doctrinal aspect of the program. About ten years ago a friend of mine applied and attended the mandatory annual live session. He came back and went with another school. He was and is a Christian of some sort but the school apparently thought he wasn't Christian "enough". Of course that was ten years ago so who knows.

Incidentally, for anyone really desperate to get an idea of what the infamous Bar Exam is really like, www.ncbex.org has study kits and prior year exams for sale at very reasonable prices. There are also free sample questions.

California bar and 1st year bar are all memorization - not much else. It does not matter where you go to law school. I went to Taft correspondence in the late 1980s, any interaction was minimal. Looking back at my transcript it was mainly Cs. I passed both bars on the first attempt. Later on I took the 3 day English QLTT and found that much more challenging even though it was open book. Getting a PhD from state U. was even harder.

My experience with Taft was also pretty positive. The do know what they're doing.
