Nice, but: WHY? That thing does seem to have any features that similar programs (like ThePowerMBA) do have, too...?

    Right. Plus:

Their big thing seems to be the names and accomplishments of the people involved - founders of Wiki, YouTube etc. I think this program might be long on business celebrities but short on the numbers and grunt-work you really have to know well to get a marketing strategy tuned or create a supplier network, do financial management etc.

And is that cert. WORTH anything? Or is the hiring manager gonna laugh? Well, here's a clue. When you get it, don't say you have an MBA. That would be lying. MBA is Master of Business Administration. That's a grad degree that comes from a University - not from Wikipedia or YouTube - or even Google.

Are they doing some social experiment? I cannot think of a scenario in which I could use this paper for benefits.

Me neither. And it sure doesn't look like it would improve anyone's dating life. :) That much money might get a man an Italian-made suit on sale, or a lesser-name (but still very good) Swiss watch - or for a lady, a high(er) fashion dress or two and great shoes. If those don't help get you a significant other, at least you'll feel better than you will with this certificate. :)

At least they call it a Program - because that's what it is - not a degree. Sorry, I just can't 'get with the program.' Plus, I have better-looking certificates from Cudoo for around $15 and Alison for a bit more but well under $100.

Why on earth would they choose highlighter yellow-green? Looks so unprofessional. I would not want that hanging on my wall, even if the program was 100% accredited.

Neither would I. Perhaps they got all the "stars" from Wiki, YouTube an' them to collaborate on it. You know, as in "A camel is a horse designed by a committee." :)

Wow! Another micro-degree. So you can micro-manage very small projects, for a micro-salary! :)

Seriously, why not? The guy is a real professor and it's $29.50. The price of an "MBA in a book," or less. It deals with the financial side of business only - and at this price that's fine. I'm sure if I needed it, a marketing (or whatever else I need) professor or exec has a book or course out there - hopefully at a similar price.

I like it - and the cert isn't terrible, like some others. And I guess you get a bunch of them. One for each course. Cool! Put 'em all together in a real-or-faux-leather folder and presto! You can flash your "portfolio." :)

Meaningful interaction with faculty? From what I see, maybe not.

At this price, I wouldn't expect it. Who would? Interaction with faculty? I had long, long years of night school.... I can learn without any more interaction, thanks. When I finally discovered I could learn without any interaction, faculty was relieved to hear it. :)

Agreed... those "micro" names really are macro lame.

Ya know…. If I want that sort of degree, I will just wait for Saylor Academy to launch their FREE MBA to the general public. (It’s coming soon)

Sounds like a really smart move. I think these mini-micro-nano-pico things are more like edutainment. A free MBA - a "real" one, 10-12 courses, 30-36 credits , perhaps - sounds worth waiting for.

You can look at this - it says a lot. https://learn.saylor.org/mod/book/tool/print/index.php?id=57260
Don't see any accreditation. Maybe that's why the co. behind this is in Florida-or not. Maybe someone else knows more about
    accreditation-or-not than I do.

Saylor is a good option, but these are not worth credit either... it's going to be $5/exam, great option for filling knowledge or learning gaps. They seem to be looking for accreditation, again, seems like a good idea that hasn't been brought to fruition yet (not released, soon hopefully)

When I heard about it, I decided to email them for more info. They responded back and let me know that they do intend to launch it in early 2024 after they get feedback from their initial cohort of students. The Business courses that are 500 and up are the same content as the MBA program. As of now, it is not accredited and they won’t take transfer courses or anything. They do plan to apply for Regional Accreditation at some point. I don’t know how they will pull that off, but I’d love to see it happen. This is a slide deck I found about it…. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1yHQN7WaAKRJEbEluy-me_fwlg-ZzHIQrzRN0q8ahY-s/edit#slide=id.g21fc9438a35_1_5
