Jan, this is not a flame war, nor will I make it one. But if you have never seen threads hijacked, then you obviously haven't read too many threads on this forum.

I hesitate to say it, but you've shown hostility to several people who have posted in this thread. If you keep doing that, you will never earn your doctorate. We can take it with a grain of salt, but your doctoral committee will not tolerate it. Once you enroll in a program, you've got to play by their rules. The time to learn diplomacy is now. (And the time to practice using italics instead of CAPS.)

So, having made all the points I wish to make, I'll throw out a question to everyone:

Who do you think will make it? (Or, as Jan would write, who do YOU think will make it?) Clinton or Trump?

In other words, lighten up, Jan. :naughty:

    I'm half Italics and that's a microaggression.

Steve, in fact you are flaming, defensive and projecting blame by falsely alledging that I've displayed hostility towards other posters when you overtly make insulting and grossly disrespectful and inappropriate comments to me and many other posters on this forum on an ongoing basis.

The fact that you acknowledge the appropriateness of high jacking others' posts as being an acceptable practice, reveals who is actually being hostile and it ain't me!

Jan, Steve is one of our "OG's", and a legend in the world of DL. He's semi-retired, but still comes by once in awhile to drop some knowledge or get the new people fired up. It's kind of a right of passage at DI to get yanked around by him, like our version of hazing.

Bruce is right. It really makes you feel at home after Steve breaks balls (used here as a gender neutral term) for the first time.

It's like working for Alec Baldwin and getting punched or dorming with R. Kelly and having him pee on you.

It's a warm, fuzzy feeling that you just can't quite articulate. It's like the first time your dad hits you with a closed fist or the first time your mom locks you out of the house for a whole night. It's how you know you're not just a member of the family but a full fledged adult member.

    Now...back to group therapy.

Gee, fellas, I’m touched. But y’all knew that already.

Now, Jan, let’s get back to business. I normally don’t quote myself, but I can’t help but notice that you’ve avoided answering the questions and issue posed in the above quote.

(You’ve also avoided acknowledging that my original off-topic post was in response to a question asked in this very thread. A one-shot answer at that. By the way, folks, speaking of gender issues, we have not even established whether Jan is female or male. The name can indicate either. And one way or the other, of course, it wouldn’t matter.)

You see, Jan, we’re all on your side here. And even though I think you’re a whiner (and I do), I also think you have a lot of potential. But at the moment, I have a doctorate, and you don’t. If you want to be my adversary, you have to get a doctorate. So it’s in my best interest to help you, along with the others, make the right decisions and do so. But ultimately, they are YOUR [sic] decisions. Which is why I made my original post in this thread, noting that you were exclusively considering profit-making online schools that will potentially raise questions about your credentials in the future.

In short, I have chosen to like you, despite the fact that your posts in the Myers-Briggs thread bore the crap out of me. But don’t take it personally, as that entire thread bores the crap out of me.

Anyway, campers, today I may actually go see a movie (something I haven’t done in years). But I have seen the play Souvenir, based on Florence Foster Jenkins, so the new Meryl Streep flick is tempting. But I’m sure at this point that if I do go to see it, it will remind me of Jan.

(A-ha! I’ll bet you thought I was going off topic again, Jan. And, while I admit that one was below the belt, I couldn’t resist. If you come back with a zinger, at least make it as funny.)

Similar to how most of the longtime members of this forum are more interested in arguing than giving help, Jan seems more interested in arguing than receiving help.

I think that a more apropos film for you would be Bride of Frankstein, in which you remind me of Dr. Pretorius (lol).

Sanatone, how long have you been experiencing these thoughts? Something you should be discussing with your bartender not with me. (Lol)

Btw Steve, the reason I didn't return to my original school to complete the doctorate was that my coursework was over ten years and I would be required to repeat them. This would be a waste of time and money.

Almost cute, but not funny. I rarely drink. I'm a substance abuse counselor. It seems like most people here could have saved some brain cells by cutting down on the alcohol a long time ago. My point stands. You don't seem interested in help; therefore, you are wasting people's time.

Then speak with your barber or whoever but please don't project your issues onto me because it was you that came in with guns blazing and derailing this thread., not I. So the question is what have you contributed to this topic other than flaming? Nada!

I asked you a question in an attempt to assist you, and you avoided answering it twice. Instead, you chose to respond to other things that had nothing to do with the goal of the OP. Either there is something wrong with your vision, or you're not interested in assistance. That's what I get for trying to be nice while others were telling you that you were searching for a unicorn.

Has anyone noticed that Jan appears to be most hostile to people who either have a doctorate or are already actively pursuing a doctorate?

If that hostility continues, I predict that Jan will never earn his or her doctorate. The kind of hostility Jan has demonstrated here would never cut muster with a doctoral committee.

By the way, Jan, we know and love sanantone 'round here. And I would rather doubt that she uses a barber. Although in the 21st century, one never knows.

If you must slice and dice, Jan, learn to do it with style, grace, elegance, eloquence, and a healthy combination of humor and humility.

Sanantone, where does it say that I, or any other pster, has to answer every question presented to them? In fact they don't but because I didn't respond you personalized it and vindictively accused me of wasting other posters time just because I didn't respond to your question as to what state I live in????? Oh, I'm so sorry for hurting your feelings.

If this ticks you off heaven forbid if I didn't say good morning to you!

Steve, Thanks for cueing me in on appropriate behavior and conduct as you rip into others with denigrating put downs and obscenities, as well, to use your term, "high jacking" others' threads with impunity.

You serve as a perfect role model for me to emulate, and for that I thank you.
