Has anyone heard of any top-tier Bschools that are currently developing a distance/blended option for their current on-campus only MBA programme?

We've Duke, UNC, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, IE... Must be others joining the gravy train soon, no?

NO. I'm guessing that the market is saturated. There are over 180 DL MBA prorams in the USA. To me it would seem foolish unless you were planning to create a rare specialty area.

MBA graduates with work experience is having a warm acceptance in companies.that is why everyone tries to achieve work experience before enrolling for an MBA program.

Maybe that's true, I haven't checked. But even if it is true, how are these two programs any different than the other 200?

I can't speak to the University of Arizona, but the UM-College Park's Smith College of Business is pretty well regarded (#37 in USNWR). I'd say that is far more prestigious than the vast majority of schools offering MBAs via distance.

Here is a link to Maryland's online MBA program: </title> <meta name="description" content="This online MBA program is offered by the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. It is designed to accommodate working professionals through a flexible online learning platform. Co

OK,well good point by you. I guess that the only thing I don't understand is how a program that only started a month ago can already be considered #37 - a top program. They haven't even finished a single semester, not to mention a single graduate.

I referenced the full-time rankings from USNWR. I suppose their online program has no ranking to speak of as it just began, but the fact is that the Robert Smith College of Business and it's graduates are highly regarded in the business world.

For me it would probably depend on whether they're using the same faculty for both the B&M program and the DL program. If they are then I'd probably agree with your reasoning. If there's a substantial difference then I'd continue to suspend judgement.

I'd agree with that assessment. It would also depend on residency requirements/networking opportunities as I believe that is the most important part of any MBA program. That's why I'm not a big proponent of any MBA program that is completely online.
