While looking up UCAM partners, I discovered a relatively new MBA program from an institute I'd never heard of before: Agora School of Business. It appears itself to be affiliated with the Coptic Orthodox Agora University, which is also partnered with UCAM. While it can't compete with Hellenic American University's low tuition, they do offer their MBA program for a semi-reasonable rate of $6,000, excluding fees. Upon completion, you receive an official degree from UCAM: https://www.asb.ac/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/UCAM-Letter-ASB.pdf
For Americans - and those hoping to use this degree in the US, a degree from this school would - hopefully - present no problem for a US foreign credential evaluation - although with some evaluators - I name no names - you never know. That said, what makes it worth twice the cost of a degree from a known good RA school that doesn't require a FCE? I can't see it. What does the extra $3,000 buy me? For $6K I can go to Hellenic American, and get a nice Swiss watch and a Fender Stratocaster. So far, I have (1) nice Swiss watch (Movado). I have (0) Stratocasters, but I do have (1) Telecaster. First things first.
To be fair, we don't know how long the HAU offer will last. $6k for an MBA would be pretty cheap if that goes away.
If both degrees were $6,000 I'd still choose HAU over Agora/UCAM. Reason: Nobody in business has probably heard of either. HAU is at least RA so it checks the box. Agora/UCAM requires a foreign credential evaluation. Likely not a problem, but depends where you go. For the same money, I'd rather have a degree that has no caveats whatsoever about its standing here - one that doesn't require extra opinions, evaluation cost or explanations, especially if a prospective employer insisted on a WES evaluation. Actually, if they both cost $6000 - I'd probably head for U. of the People, pay less than $3 K and hope and pray they were RA by the time I graduated -- and I think I'd hit pay dirt on that expectation. Site visit is this month.
HAU's MBA is supposed to be $12-14k, depending on if it's the rolling cohort or not. https://hauniv.edu/about/fact-sheet Still a good price, but twice as much as the degree in the first post in this thread.
Agreed. 'Supposed to be.' But in the here and now, it's reported you can still get aboard for $3K. That's the offer. So my reasoning is based on that. If it's going to cost more (and I'm sure that'll happen sometime) that'll be when my whole premise is shot -and Agora may beat them pricewise. But that's not right now - and my argument revolves around the present, not future predictions. Remember that very popular comedian, Flip Wilson -- "The Reverend Leroy and the Church of What's Happenin' Now?" My kinda Church! Go, Rev! Clerow "Flip" Wilson had an amazing talent and was a good-hearted man. He is dearly loved and sorely missed.
