    Here's top-up degree ranking:

    1. The Open University (takes only 1 year)
    2. Middlesex University (takes only 1 year)
    3. University of Derby
    4. Arden

    what advantage does 1 get by doing 2 years at UoL and finishing their last year with middlesex/open U ?

    I think Open U degree is a little more popular than UoL degree. Not sure...
    and Open U is ranked institution that actually invests into researches while UoL is just a virtual degree provider.

    So you can get both UoL Diploma of Higher Education and Open U Bachelor ... which is not bad in my opinion.
