Remember when Touro University International underwent an ownership change and started calling itself TUI University? And then they realized that was a terrible idea but still stayed with the TUI acronym with Trident University International?

Well, here's a new one that just seems to really be grasping at straws:

Southeastern Bible College (SECB) is merging with Piedmont International University. The former SEBC campus will be sold and a new one is to be constructed, but lest we not forget the SEBC acronym. They are calling the new campus the.... Smart Efficient Blended Campus: https://www.piedmontu.edu/sebc

Look, I'm sensitive to wanting to keep the tradition of a former school alive in some respect, but this acronym business is just inane.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying but Touro and Trident were never the same organization.

I appreciate the idea of them coming up with something, but... not that.

Somebody might need to help me with this but there's not even any mention of Trident in the article you linked. If you go to the websites of the respective schools and look at the "History of..." section, neither one mentions the other. They share an acronym. I'm pretty sure that's it.

    From Wikipedia:
    Former names
    TUI University, Touro University International

Maybe it's, as they say, complicated.

If you had a week to spare then you could probably follow the evolution in the forum archives.
