Just curious, does anybody have hard scientific evidence (studies, surveys, poll results) of the acceptance of job applicants who possess State Approved/Legally Registered, but unaccredited degrees, by commercial business employers. I would not expect for there to be acceptance amongst regionally accredited academic employers; but in the general business world, my thoughts are these schools, which tend to be vocationally oriented/non-traditional, are more aptly accepted. I am referring to legal schools, where the degree could be used legally used in 47 US states (less: OR, NJ, ND), such as, CPU, CCU, PW, KW - these schools do not claim false accreditation, do have courses of study (while perhaps inferior), and publicly meet the regulations of the state in which they reside. I would not classify schools that have set up their location in the Caribbean/or suddenly claim accreditation form the former Soviet Union/an African Nation in this category; nor would I classify even a state licensed school that claims accreditation from an organization that is not recognized by the United Sates Department of Education.

    Thanks,

Yes, I do. Very recent, too. (Within the last 3 months.) I'll be looking to publish portions of my research after my dissertation is accepted by UIU.

Great question. Rich, I can't wait to see the results of your work. (Well, at least the Reader's Digest version of it.):D

I can only tell you that my company (with over 40,000 employees) only accepts RA degrees on face value and evaluates all others on a case-by-case basis. They are very strict about it, which makes me think that they must have been burned by an employee with a fake degree in the past. However, I would suspect that most employers would easily accept a degree from a state-approved school since it seems that most don't even notice degrees from degree mills!

I would guess that a state-approved J.D. would be accepted by most, but by no means all, state and private employers (not the feds) so long as the applicant was a member of a state bar.

If there's any real competition for the job, though, an ABA J.D. would win every time.

Even if a state approved J.D. holder never intended to practice law, he would do well to get himself admitted to the bar anyway as a way of bolstering a dicey degree.
