On their "Values & Recognition" page, they claim accreditation from the International Accreditation Agency for Leading Private Institutions of Higher Education. This is an accreditation agency that I've never heard of, and I doubt that that agency is recognized by the United States Department of Education www.ed.gov/ops or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation www.chea.org.

I find it amusing that a google reverse address search on the addresses in New York and London do not have an MIU at either address.

Googling the New York address didn't turn up anything suggesting a university. The number '360' suggests a post box.

I'm willing to bet that this thing hasn't obtained a license from the NY Regents to grant degrees in NY State. If that's indeed the case, then boasting a NY address and suggesting that this is a New York university is likely a criminal offense.

The perpetrator is unlikely to be worried about that, since she probably isn't anywhere near New York.

Whois shows that the website 'miu-education.com' was registered on March 6, 2009 to

    Andreas Jenk
    MIU Education Centre
    1A Pope Street
    Tanner Place
    SE1 3PR
    LND
    London GBR
    +44.207193367

'Andreas Jenk' may well be a phony name or perhaps a business agent.

Googling that address doesn't reveal any universities. It does turn up hundreds of businesses though, suggesting that it's an off-shore business registration service.

Googling 'Manhattan Intercontinental University' generated 13 hits. 12 were its own pages, and one was some marketing from Hungary.

A search for 'Manhattan International University' turned up another 17 hits. Two are apparently unrelated, five were MIU pages, and the rest were Hungarian-related.

Here's the Hungarian woman who may or may not be MIU's owner - the first 'my company' link leads to MIU itself, the second to the 'Central European Scholarship Centre' which seems to be marketing MIU to students in Hungary. Her name is on the MIU homepage as well.

    Their "accreditation" page:
    http://www.miu-education.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=98&Itemid=113
suggests that their MBA program "was accredited in 2009 by the well-known OXFORD MBA ACCREDITATION AGENCY"

Of course it couldn't have been "accredited" by them before 2009 since this apparently "well-known" agency only came into existence last month!

The miu-education.com domain was registered March 6 2009 ... this makes it seem strange that some of their totally not fake testimonials are from 2008 grads:
