It doesn't matter how young or old you are, as long as you have that drive and patience to get things done, this is an example! Wow, 50+ years after high school, he finally did it! It's inspirational, especially to his grandkids, as his mother who is 98, was able to experience that excitement along with their family. Reminds me of a joke: One day, a man had just turned 100 years of age and was being interviewed on the news. The interviewer asked him to what he credited his longevity. "I would have to say clean living. I've never smoked, had a drink, or did drugs. I ate well and got lots of sleep, and lived a very temperate life." Suddenly, the interview was interrupted by a crash in the kitchen. Through the door burst an old man. "Where's my bourbon? And cigarettes? And what are all these people doing here so early?" He stumbled off into the next room. The interviewer looked at the new centenarian and asked, "Who was THAT?" The guy said, "Oh, don't mind him. That's just my dad."
Talk about never giving up! This guy really sets the example. And now he plans on pursuing a career in screenwriting. Amazing. Of course the timing is unfortunate, due to the writers strike, but that's just a minor speedbump. Hopefully they resolve the issues and he can have a fruitful writing life. With his Mom pushing 99, he may indeed have a long second act.
