Until I am officially a graduate student at UNR taking 3 courses!!!! Unless you consider the fact that I have already been accepted and enrolled as being an official student. I am so nervous and worried about the work load, content etc but I think things will be okay once I get into a groove and learn how to work Moodle. I have always worked on Blackboard so Moodle will be new to me. Excited but nervous. Anyone else just starting (new or back) ???
So far my experience with them has been awesome. I plan to post an update once I begin classes so everyone can know how the courses are
I heard UNR is a good school, but they seem to have a lack of opinions for graduate level study. However, if you found one you like, good for you and you'll have to let us know how it is . . .
Update for anyone who cares So far so good. The work looks manageable so far but I don't like that I am not able to see the workload for the whole course. It is put up apparently a week at a time. I have actually emailed the instructors to ask if there is a more long term schedule because I am a planner and like to start working on larger projects asap. Other than that looks to be the same standard course as anywhere else this could change though as this is just my first week,. Oh and they use Moodle which I am so not familiar with at all but quickly learning as it doesn't seem to be that complicated. Will update again in a few weeks once the courses get rolling.
It's unusual, but not unheard of, for you not to be able to access the assignments for your entire class. NCU and Liberty both allow complete access, which I think is the best way to do it. I remember National University, where I earned my master's, only allowed access to one week at a time. I don't see the point in not allowing students to plan and even work ahead if they want.
Online Learning: University of Nevada, Reno I totally agree! I am a planner and like to work ahead and was really hoping to be able to do that with this program or at least this semester because we are moving mid-end of October to Seattle and I really do not want to do homework/study while we move. I hope that maybe they will add more over this week but who knows. Really don't see the point in not allowing access and if they don't want you to work ahead they can just state that your not allowed to post the work until the week it is due or something and I would still work ahead without posting!
If they wont allow you to work ahead, I wonder if the instructor would at least tell you the chapters to read in the text. Even if you can't work ahead, you might can at least get the reading done.
Ashford allows you to see the assignments for the entire class, which I love. I hate only being able to view one week at a time.
