I never did take a course, but my late ex-Mrs earned both a Bachelor's and Master's in Anthropology. After she was "rid of me", she married an Anthropology professor - a nice man - and they were very happy, together. I believe she was working on her doctorate, but unfortunately, she died very suddenly, at age 49.

Thanks. So was I -- because the happiness she had finally achieved was so short-lived. IIRC, she and her new husband were only married something like 18 months, when she succumbed almost immediately to a major heart attack. She deserved WAY longer than that. She never got to be at our sons' weddings, or to see our grandchildren.

    Am I correct?
You can get an Associate or Bachelor degree in Sociology without taking the entry level course at the public schools? Take the class via CLEP? Private schools transfer that course?

I figure so. I'm sure you can take Sociology 100 at pretty well any college / Uni. without a prior course. Here in Canada there are a few Social Science - Humanities courses available in the High School curriculum. But I'm pretty sure none are specifically required for introductory Psych. at college or University. You can take your intro there, instead. Once you have that, you can advance to other courses required for a degree.

You don't have the HS course? Don't let that stop you - don't even let it bother you. If you do have it, I doubt the HS course will suffice to give you exemption from the College intro -- but you could always try? :)

Y'all know about my "thing" with fashion... I was pleased to see those Ontario HS Courses under the rubric "Social Science- Humanities" now include, in Family Studies:

    Understanding Fashion - Grade 11
The World of Fashion - Grade 12.

    :) :) :)
