I had a lovely time completed the Tourism diploma from XAMK, a nice 60 ECTS. I had previously completed about 100 ECTS and submitted to WES for evaluation. Just to share with you guys, my 5 ECTS becomes 3.5 Semester Hours, so it is not really 2 ECTS is to 1 Semester Hours, and all my ECTS are recognized as regional accredited.

Interesting! How did you get them to evaluate the transcript? I know some students wanted to use WES a couple of years ago but WES refused to touch them because of how XAMK issues their transcripts.

That's great, looking forward to seeing other AICE or NACES providers jumping on this band wagon as well... I think it'll go there sometime, sooner or later...

Amazing, I didn't know they had to go through specific instructions. Would you mind telling us what those instructions were? I would assume creating the transcript and sending to a specific email address with an official pdf document or something to that affect.

Basically what WES said. Physically printed and sealed and send to WES.

Iiiinteresting. I'm pretty sure XAMK has told other students that they couldn't do that.

Yes - that's been reported in the forums. I'm wondering if those were cases of some particular person at XAMK saying "no" because they (that person) didn't know how (or didn't want to.) It happens in a lot of places ... and they often say "yes" when they get an "official" request from a known organization, like WES.

I think a doorway might have been opened, here. :)

Maybe XAMK could see their way clear to doing this as a regular thing and charging a reasonable fee to cover envelopes, postage etc.

Even with the fees, going the snail-mail option opens doors and should be cheaper, easier, faster in helping the student get the elective or general education credits they want, also, some of these may even hit the major AOS. That's great, WES is at least letting the option of sending this in, even though it's not the quick e-mail or electronic method.
