Trump’s Full Report

Well, the former President says he will release a full report proving his innocence of all charges and that the 2020 election was stolen. Who, I wonder, will read it? His supporters who already believe fervently in those things or those of the considerable majority who are satisfied that there was no election fraud and that the former President committed serious crimes?

 

He's been claiming this for 3 years already. NOTHING. He's got nothing.

 

Of course he has nothing. That’s why I wonder if anyone will read it.

 

It will come at a great relief to know that a former President of the United States is NOT guilty of the many crimes he's been accused of.

Now, excuse me. I have to go feed the unicorn.

 

I suspect it will get the Infrastructure Week treatment. Promised, but never actually delivered.

 

If Trump's lawyers can't stop him from releasing it then I'm sure that Fani Willis will read it and probably add it to the evidence proving the case against Trump.

Now that he’s indicted and faces four indictments with a total of 91 felony counts, he would be better off not talk about these things.

Some law professionals opinion:
Even right affiliated law professions recommend not to respond.
Dershowitz predicted earlier this week that there would be convictions, but that they may be reversed after the 2024 election.
He has no choice but to run for presidency - Supreme Court "may well hold a sitting president is immune from trial" or a conviction if he wins the election.
But if all the trials will be held during election year and GA is most prevalent chances to be elected are slim.

I wonder is it practical in GA, have you seen a trial with 19 defendants, a 90-plus page indictment and this degree of complexity brought to trial in anywhere close to six months as GA Prosecutor tells, is she being truthful?

Diversity of viewpoints of 19 defendants in GA indictments may pose problems for the prosecution, as well as for the judge who must instruct the jury on the law applicable to each defendant.
Even when RICO and conspiracy are charged, individual guilt must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. American law does not recognize guilt by association.
But there is more then a year to the elections.

My opinion is that qualification for running on behalf of any party for the highest office in the US has to be that the candidate has no on going indictments and not destructed by legal trials while in office that with an understanding that this may lead to politically motivated indictments by opposing influenced party prosecutors or
non indictments by non opposing party affiliated prosecutors I guess?

Here's my attempt at being optimistic.

Right now there are folks that plan on voting for Trump. This group of folks is not likely to increase as the trials get closer and some start. On the contrary, chances are that especially independents will be less likely to vote Trump. This group of folks that voted Trump was not large enough to win the 2020 election. Chances are the size has shrunk since 2020 and will likely continue to shrink for the reason stated. While it appears that Trump is getting closer to winning the Republican nomination. He is at the same time getting further from winning the general election.

This assumes that the Democrats can get their base excited enough about the election that they turn out in numbers at least as large as 2020 and 2022. With the economy forecast looking pretty good and overturning of Roe getting folks excited, I believe Democrats will have decent turnout in 2024.

 

You know, Lerner, every word Trump puts forth in his report can be used against him in Court. Every. Last. Word.

No, because it has so few speakers - just one family, I'm guessing. Perhaps only the Patriarch himself speaks "Classical Lerner." The rarest language I ever studied was Mohawk, spoken by people called Kanien'keha:ka in their own language - People of the Flint, one of the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy. The Mohawk language has only 540 speakers in Canada. About 3,000 more live in the US.

Six Nations: Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Tuscarora, Seneca. Six Nations Reserve isn't far from where I live. I've had a couple of Mohawk friends for at least 30 years.

 

His team is already sending out signals that he's not going to do it, hoping that will get him to not do it. I don't think he will, not because he's worried about the very real legal ramifications. (Like he cares.) No, I think he won't do it because there is simply nothing he could publish, nothing he could say, that would even plausibly explain what he's done. Even if it was 100% filled with lies.

This is my complaint about Trump supporters in general. Okay, you're guy is innocent. How? They're like 8-year-olds trying to explain how the living room lamp got busted. They can't. They can't even come up with a theoretical explanation. Man, I'd love to hear that.

He didn't. He wants to lay it on his lawyers, but no one--not him, not them, not anyone supporting him--has even been able to concoct a cover story, much less provide exculpatory evidence to explain it all away. That's why they're at the "pound the table" stage already.

 

Reportedly, his attorneys are advising him not to do this. There have been two other public figures recently who've tried to plead their cases in the court of public opinion, and it has not worked out for them in real court.
