In the end, having a fake degree is the least of this guys problems. Unfortunately, they don't name the "school" in question. https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/crime/2018/11/09/delaware-therapist-sachin-karnik-prison-sentence-fraud/1947840002/
According to the press, Karnik was previously convicted in 2006 for Medicare Fraud and was given a four-year suspended sentence, fined and ordered to make restitution. More details of that and of the sexual abuse-related allegations against him here: https://consentawareness.net/2018/07/06/delaware-fails-to-prosecute-alleged-sex-offender/ I believe he came to America around age 5. Unfortunately, I, too, was unable to find the source of his fake Ph.D., which he claims is in Social work. He has a book, sold on Amazon (only if you're 18-plus) I'm not going to give the link - no free plugs for this guy - but you have his name and I'm sure you can find it if you're curious.
Thanks! Diz muz be da place: https://www.geteducated.com/diploma-mill-police/degree-mills-list/hartford-university-accreditation On the famous Oregon, Michigan and Texas no-fly lists. Nothing to do with University of Hartford, Hartford CT - that's a "real" school.
Here's another guy who created a fake degree. He compounded his lie with fake transcripts and by pretending to be the Mayor https://www.texomashomepage.com/news/national-news/police-florida-engineer-faked-college-degree/
Interestingly he used "The fake transcript showed he received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1990 and was used to gain a Florida professional engineering license". Passing the PE Exam is NOT an easy task. He must have known his trade. . . . . but he was still wrong in his actions.
