I'm suspicious about the methodology. On the other hand, I can be pretty bitchy and I've got plenty of dough. https://www.thecut.com/2018/10/nicer-people-tend-to-have-less-savings-and-more-debt.html
I'm a nice guy in real life (I swear!!!! No, really!!!!!), and I most certainly do not have plenty of dough. The upside is that I can look myself in the mirror at night. That is, if I borrow one from someone who can afford it.
Very interesting!! I would consider myself apathetic about money. I'm a super tight budgeter and we have everything we need or want, but my needs and wants are pretty different than most people I think. (ex. I don't own a cell phone but wouldn't bat an eye spending $200 on dinner) I'm also really agreeable. But, we have no debt except our home, and that's full of equity, so I don't know if the correlation applies to me or not. Interesting though!!
Jennifer, IIRC you posted about a year ago you'd just got your very first first cellphone - a flip-phone (like the one I've had for 10 years now). Did you get rid of it? BTW - I'm the sourest thing this side of a quince - but it's never had any monetary effect. Never had any money really, then somehow I managed to retire at 50. I was broke by 65 and now at 75, life is pretty good, money wise. Best savings ever, no debts at all and no change throughout, in my unpleasant disposition. I'd never spend $200 on dinner, unless I was dating somebody out of my league - and that's pretty well anyone. But $1,000 on a guitar would be fine, if I really liked it. (I have four already that don't add up to $1,000!)
Ha ha - that's funny!! So that had to be longer ago than a year ago, but my memory gets foggy. My husband started carrying a cell phone...gosh I can't remember when, but he carried a flip phone for a LONG time, probably until 3ish years ago? 4 maybe? We upgraded him for Christmas to a $50 LG phone from Walmart but I can't remember when. I'm going to say 3 years ago. I still don't have one. You know I had to look. With this thread to refresh my memory, I can correctly remember buying my hubby his smartphone for Christmas 3 years ago. Funny thread btw! https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/is-a-smart-phone-necessary-to-stay-current.41323/
