I'd rather be buried alive in a coffin filled with madagascar hissing cockroaches.

Well, it finally came, and ain't it a beut! The diploma is very nice looking, with the E and C of Excelsior College being in sparkling raised letters of the color purple and outlined in the color gold- not to mention that I like the purple case it comes in, and more than anything, the part where it says [Maniac Craniac's real name]. Oh, and whattaya know?! There looks to be a bit of room on my wall that it would fit quite nicely :)

Congratulations!! Great accomplishment!! (still laughing - and squirming - over your preference to be "buried alive in a coffin filled with madagascar hissing cockroaches," rather than getting a Ph.D, hahahahaha!)

But what you don't understand is that MC would like to be buried in a coffin of madagascar hissing cockroaches!

Haha, thanks. However, don't be TOO envious. I'm only half way there to what might end up only being half way there :yikes:

How big is the diploma? I remember when I got my AA, being surprised that the diploma from my college was tiny -- 5x8, I think. Same size as my high school one. The BA (from a different school) was what you would think of as a normal diploma size. I was hoping the MA would be larger still to continue the pattern, but I doubt it. The diploma frames at the bookstore look like they take 8x10. :) Won't have the diploma for a few weeks yet.

We have an old high school diploma from the 1920s that we found at a yard sale. That one is HUGE and elaborate and really an indication that a high school diploma was once considered a very serious achievement. Seriously, it approaches poster size.

The diploma is 8.5 x 11, the size of a standard sheet of paper. A relative of mine has a Boston College BA, and the thing looks to be about twice the size as mine, and its 100% written in Latin

Felicitaciones!! (Sorry, I only speak English and Spanish).

How wonderful that you have achieved this milestone. We are all proud of you. I echo Randell's "Way to go!!"

Esta bien, puedo pensar de unas lenguas que (todavia) no se tampoco. Gracias

Wow, what kind words! Thank you very much. I am still a long way from my goal, but this is my very first college degree, so I'm reveling in it. I actually have a degree now... seriously, even if it's just a Liberal Arts (ie general studies) AA degree, I actually HAVE a degree. FINALLY! I can't get over that. I'm both happy and relieved!

I bought some more velcro, and TA DA, the diploma is now hanging on my wall. For both my HS diploma and my EC diploma, I kept them in the folio that it comes in, since they both look so nice! The AA, with it's beautiful colors and larger size, dominates the wall over my HS Diploma and my professional certification. Soon they will all be trumped by my UWyo BA!

Just passed American Literature with a 53. This was my second attempts. Now that I'd fulfilled my requirements, I can now say that I have a BSIT at Excelsior College.

Earning my Regents associate degree MATTERED! It showed me that my vague dreams of pursuing college degrees was possible.

    lol, thanks anyway peacfulchaos.

b4, thanks for the pick-me-up. I'm really close to finishing my next degree. If I don't get distracted, I only have about a month of work left to put into it. Let's see how that goes.

Rich, I agree 100%. As I've said before, even though it is a nothing degree, the jump from having NO degree to having A degree, at all, is absolutely huge. No matter what happens in my life, I will never be in the No College Degree category ever again.
