APU is also RA and I highly recommend it. But I'm somewhat biased

Hey, Bias is okay since I already applied for FSA and am registering today ;) . I could use some positive feedback from attendees of AMU/APU.

I have enjoyed my experience with AMU. Love the support and the instructors have all been very helpful. Courses are interesting, I am in the MBA program, and have been challenging and rewarding.

I have completed 3 courses at AMU, and also completed 3 courses at Amberton. In comparing the two schools I would give AMU an 8.5 (out of 10) and Amberton a 7.

AMU has been the best out of 5 different schools that I have attended online. This includes TESC and Washington State University.

I am working on getting a full-time position with the Air National Guard so a degree from AMU will not have the negative bias that it might have in the civilian world. I could be wrong, but so far it has been a good experience and I would recommend AMU to anyone.

    Good luck with your studies,

    Cory

Thanks Cory. So far APU/AMU's customer service has been a 10 (out of 10). They quickly helped me register for courses in March in a short amount of time, and also was quick with financial aid. They are very pleasant over the phone as well. Glad to hear that they give excellent support and have helpful instructors.
As far as the possible negative bias, luckily there isn't one at my job. It would be interesting to find out if there were any bias' from Civilian MBA Graduates or BBA's from APU/AMU.

I don't have the MBA from there, but I do have the Masters in Political Science from AMU / APUS. I'm currently finishing the Masters in Space Studies there, too (two more courses, one of which starts next week).

I liked the school so much I got a job teaching there. It is a great school in my opinion.

There is no school name I like less than American Public University. I don't care how crazy or convoluted any other name is, APU just makes me shake my head in wonder over how a team of likely quite intelligent folks agreed to such a an odd, or even presumptuous, name.

    Switching to AMU from APU?

That's why I am going to switch from APU to AMU after I finish the three courses that were approved for salary advancement for my job, otherwise I would switch right away. The name is too generic.

I initially had a problem with my degree saying American Military University when I never served in the military. My father and brother did, but not me. I felt like I would feel like a poser. But now, I feel like I should just go with it and not worry about it. The name AMU is so much better than APU.

I have no peculiar aversion to the AMU name. It has a proud history and has served a great need.

I actually agree that the American Public University name just sounds bad. I like the sound of American Military University better. But since there is an obvious distinction between the two, will it matter if I served in the military or not? Because I havent. But Im seriously thinking about APU/AMU for the masters in Poli Sci.

NMTTD: no you do not have to have any military affiliation to attend AMU. The AMU name is specifically geared towards bringing in military students (as APU would garner less military member attention and therefore give APUS less access to military education funding). They are a great school, I received my BA from them but chose to go elsewere for my Masters just to have some "educational diversity" on my resume.

@Ted Heiks we do ask people to use the search function dont we lol.

I was merely pointing out that by telling people to use the search function we get posts renewed that are quite old. I do not personally understand why everyon seems to alway make a point of stating a post is old (ie the necromancey posts that seem to always follow someone bringing an old post back). Just my .02 cents. Ive only been around a little bit and do not post that often but I read this site all the time and it seems to never fail that someone makes a point of saying something about an old post being revived that has nothing to do with the topic of the post.

I will go ahead and bow out of this now :D.
