From the Great State of Massachusetts: The University of Massachusetts Lowell offers an Online MBA program. At $530/hour, this 30-42 hour program (depending on whether you'll need the foundation courses) will set you back a mere $15,900-$22,260. They are accredited by the New England Association and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

I got the price from the UW website, but now that I look again, I see that's the price for their OTHER online gradate programs. The price per credit for the MBA is $550.

I guess that everybody knows this but I'm going to say it anyway. The cheapest program today is not necessarily the cheapest program tomorrow. Schools change their prices and so there's always going to be a small group of schools vying for that "cheapest program" honor. Within that group you should pay close attention to the way that the educational material is transmitted to the student. You should pay close attention to the quality of the personal service that is provided to students. You should pay close attention to the average price of textbooks per course. You should pay close attention to the entire process because the cost of a program is not measured solely by the tuition rate.

at times like this one I think of the old Shakey's Pizza adage:

"We have no quarrel with those who sell for less. They know what their product is worth."

Has anyone had any experiences with Umass Lowell? It looks like a good program, it's accedited, and rated.

I'm sure that universities (or schools within them), like suppliers I've dealt with over the years, vary over time; some improving and some deteriorating. Deterioration usually being due to staff turnover , complacency, or funding reductions.

In light of your comment, I just found out that JSU is increasing their per credit rate for online graduate courses to $325 in the fall. That will now make the program:

    $325 x 30 credits = $9,750

That may actually move the University of South Dakota program into the lead for the least expensive online AACSB MBA depending on any extra fees that USD may add...

I would point out that the total cost of the UW MBA is still under $18K. If you have the necessary pre-requisites, it's still an excellent value from a school that has excelled in delivering education at a distance for over 100 years. I'm a very satisfied graduate of UW's College of Business (albeit at the undergraduate level), and took several MBA courses as electives during my program. In my experience, UW's instructors are top-notch, your fellow students are engaged and ready to contribute, and the course content compares favorably with what I saw later in the (much more expensive) Duke University MBA program. I would prefer to do an MBA program that includes on-campus residencies, but if you are comfortable doing the entire program at a distance, you will find the UW EMBA program to be a great balance of cost and quality.
