Which State Universities have online BA programs?

And which one has the same (or not so much higher) tuition in-sate and out-state in the DL program (The only ones that I know of, are the BA programs from SUNY Empire State College and CUNY).

I'd be willing to bet that the answer is, "All of them."

No, that's not true at all. I'd actually be surprised if half of all state universities offered online BA's. I'd go a step further and say that only a small percentage of those offered the same tuition to in-state and out-of-state students.

Fort Hays State University offers several BA majors online degrees at very inexpensive rates...the same regardless of in state or out. They also offer many of their classes in 8 week formats.

What major are you looking for?

Hi Pug - So I took my handy-dandy alphabetized list of the 50 United States and I went to Google. I simply plugged in '"name of state" distance learning' and I let it feed me some links. After going from Alabama to Montana (that's 26 states) I found at least one Bachelors degree program available through distance learning in every single one of those 26 state university systems. (Note to Hikaru: it only took me about 30 minutes) Now I suppose that there might be one of the remaining 24 that doesn't have a distance learning Bachelors degree program somewhere within its public higher education system but I think you'll have to agree that a 26-0 record is fairly convincing. It's almost midnight here so I'm going to sleep. If you need me to finish the list then I'll do it sometime on Sunday.

The question is not about which states have universities with DL, HikaruBr asked "Which State Universities have online BA programs?". That is what Pug is trying to point out.

Take Washington state for example, there are several state universities (University of Washington, Washington State, Central, Eastern, Western) but only 1 has a distance BA (WSU) that I am aware of. http://distance.wsu.edu/

Their "Flexible Enrollment" courses are $220/hr regardless of residency. Something to look into - http://distance.wsu.edu/courses/basics.asp#tuition

"What major are you looking for?"

I´d like something in the Business area, but that´s not really a "must have". I´d be happy with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts, for example.

I just want a american BA (I´m from Brazil) for a lot of reasons.

Exactly Mcattack. Nowadays I think that most US universitites (state ou private) have some courses online, but not all of them have a BA program.

CUNY, for example, has started its online BA program less than a year ago.

Anyway, I wanna thanks all the people here that were so kind to point me to those state schools with DL BA programs.

Hi Pug - I understand your point. I had just interpreted the question differently.

Peterson's (which brings you many college prep guides) has an online search section where you can search by program and degree level. See: http://www.petersons.com/distancelearning/code/search.asp

While not 100% accurate, it appears to be at least 80+% accurate. A quick search using Accounting.Buisness amangement, Bachelor's and no on campus retrieved two state schools (Southern New Hampshire University and Upper Iowa University).

The University of New Orleans is a state school (even though it doesn't have the word "state" in its name) and all of the coursework for a BA there can be done through Louisiana State University's Independent Study program.

I looked into that program a while back. I thought that all LSU work would transfer to UNO, but there were some UNO residency requirements as well. No?
