Kennedy-Western has moved its campus from California to Idaho to Hawaii to Wyoming (all the while being run from California). If Wyoming passes the legislation in the article Rich identified, where will they move next? A copy of the 16th edition of Bear's Guide (or one of my cookbooks) to the first person who chooses the right location. (Book available late January.)

If Kennedy-Western finds a loophole, it will be served-up to it on a silver platter... which I think, given the climate, is unlikely.

Accreditation -- or even California-style (BPPVE) state approval -- is to Kennedy-Western as Kryptonite is to Superman.

So I voted for Alabama: The path of least resistance.

Given their history they will eventually move to all of those places and become Kennedy-Western International Airport.

I considered Alabama, but Kennedy-Western? Stranger things have come from mills of course.

I considered Mississippi, but I suspect that still will get tough.

Then I considered Wyoming, but I really think that state has had enough.

I chose the Caribbean. Simple, and it could then go after some form of island "accreditation."

Kennedy-Western says it would seek accreditation if Wyoming requires it. That should have been a choice on the survey.

I'm confident K-WU doesn't have a chance with California, and Hawaii would have Jeff jump 'em.

I voted for Wyoming. (On my sixth try, after five blue boxes that said 'invalid session'. I hate machines making editorial comments about my posts.)

Given the fact that K-W has been telling the media that they support new legislation and that mills need to be run out of Wyoming, I imagine that there are gaping loopholes.

I seem to recall (in an old thread now inextricably lost in the dust of time) an earlier WY news story saying that the new mandatory-accreditation proposals that were then being proposed would apply to any new applicants, but existing WY-licensed schools will be grandfathered in.

If that came to pass, K-W could happily continue using a WY address (is it really physically in WY now?) while citing the 'tough' new WY regulations in its marketing. (I certainly don't anticipate K-W successfully becoming accredited anytime before amoebas have evolved into pipe smoking academics.)

We know that in the past KWU had a lobbyist running around Wyoming greasing the skids. I'll guess that KWU will have a nice loophole all prepared to slip through. So Wyoming

One would HOPE that the ameobas would have learnt enough to avoid the tobacco habit.

I think KW will go completely "cyber". It will have such "offices" as it needs scattered all over with no physical address at all!

It will contract for diploma printing, accept payemts through the Internet to Nauru, contract for instructors on a single student tutorial basis...

    :D :D :D

I voted for "rest of the world," especially to exotic (maybe, even mundane) places where the disgraceful practices and deceptions of the Kennedy-Western Entity (KWE) are largely unheard of, and where some people might (wrongfully) believe that Kennedy-Western "University" may have been founded by former US President John F. Kennedy and/or his brother, aspirant RFK.

Something tells me that, with their millions of dollars in easy-money made over the past 20 years or so, KWE may stay put in Wyoming. How? By maybe buying its way through generous campaign contributions, junkets, etc.

Never underestimate the power of KWE's (and others') dollars to corrupt the sometimes (not always and certainly not all) corrupt politicos of Wyoming's legislature and edutocracy.

    Thanks.

    California la tierra prometida.

    My vote goes to california.

With the amount of financial resources that K-W has.................it should be able to obtain "Caly" approval.

Although it is not a poll choice, I think they go to Utah. There private schools are only required to register with the relevant government agency. Therefore, they can continue to claim proper licensing.

Interesting choice. By the way, if Dr. Bear would like Utah added to the poll, all he'd need to do is ask a moderator to do so... and supply, in said request, the appropriate catchy phrase to go along with it, of course.

Idaho seems like a reasonable choice, too... except that when we had that young fellow from the State of Idaho posting here (and taking some serious abuse from us) a little while back, I think I remember him saying that changes might be coming which could make it more difficult for mills to live there... much like Mississippi in that regard, I suppose.

Naw that won't happen. You can't fool BPPVE. They'd have to at least reach PWU or Newport standards. Something like 6 courses for BA.

Not to be completely cynical, but isn't "corrupt politicos" an oxymoron? :D

In a perfect world, yes. Sadly, in practice, it's more like a redundancy.

    I don't understand this tread.
Is it in a way will provide KWU with ideas, they do visit here so maybe they will tank you all for some good recomendations.
There are 2 sides to this, wile interesting pol, its like a person who gets bears guide in order to learn about avalble diploma mills and then get a degree from one of the mills.
I think that was in some cases why in later editions Dr. bear stoped providing the address and contact information of the mills.

I'm sure they have persons working on this and don't need this boards input but you never know, they can pic an idea or reinforce it.

What is the prize KWU offered for the info?

    Just kidding
