Right. It had nothing to do with race and religion. Sure.

We all know that the Republican party would never try to limit the influence of a staunch anti-Israel, anti-Trump "democratic socialist" that vehemently criticizes their party and votes against them on almost every single issue, so long as it was a white Christian male.

We also know that Ilhan Omar is an innocent, pure, virtuous earth angel who's never once taken part in the same exact political maneuvering that she's currently on the losing end of.

Let's not kid ourselves here with all of this whitesplaining and dog whistling.

This doesn’t come as a surprise to the world at all because of allegations that Ilhan Omar has a history of being anti-semitic and defending Islamic terrorists.
Omar may be in violation of a federal statute for fundraising for two Muslim Brotherhood charities (that seek to destroy America).

"During the Holy Land Foundation investigation, the FBI uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood memo, An Explanatory Memorandum On the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America, which mapped out the organization’s plan to infiltrate and destroy America. The memorandum stated: The Ikhwan [brothers] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and "sabotaging" its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

With leaders in Qatar that seek to spread Islamist ideology across the world, funding both violent jihadists in the East and be-suited extremists in the West its been alleged that Omar has ties with
    such elements.
Alleged - not proven - The fact that the Foreign Affairs Committee has influence over US arms sales has made her seat there particularly worrying to some.
    (Saudis)
Allegedly Omar is being accused as someone running errands for the powerful Islamist lobbies and whose sole aim is to push radical Islam in modern Western societies.

Omar’s record suggests why she’s viewed as so threatening by the GOP and the US foreign policy establishment: a Muslim, refugee woman who calls out not just US establishment hypocrisy, but the human rights abuses of both rival Islamic autocracies and US partners like Israel alike. It’s no surprise she had to go.
Her critics claim that the human rights activity is used by her to further Islamist agenda.

Unsupported suggestions allegations being alleged by the political right against a Democrat black Islam women serving in congress are not worth much credibility, IMHO. About as much credibility as MTG's claim that Jewish space laser satellites were starting California fires.

Israel can be a Jewish state or it can be a democracy. It cannot be both. Apartheid is not the answer.

Israel in our day is a Jewish Democratic state.
The liberated territories given by the League of Nations to Jews should have preserved the Arab Tribal culture.
It was a major mistake to appoint foregners such as PLO to head the local Arabs.
It woukd have been much better if the area divided to State of Hebron, State of Gaza etc.
They have local tribal leaders and despise, Arafat and Abbas who was forced on them.
There are many Arab states, there also Muslim Democratic states and there is a Jewish Democratic State of Israel.
Challenging times ahead, Israel faces multiple fronts, including local Arabs who will rise in such a conflict. Abraham accords may show hope.
Sides should negotiate a lasting peace.

It is not. That is obvious to the Palestinians.

Depends on the definition of Jewish Democratic state. To borrow a line from George Santos. It could be a Jewish Democratic-ish state. :D

Many states in the world are Democratic-ish.
    Is there 100%?
Every country goes through changes and phases.
One major challenge in Israel today is the major disagreement on Jugicial brunch reform that current elected gov is trying to implement.
Some predict violence, and major civil unrest.

You mean where 100% of adults there are eligible to vote? Yes, quite a few.

(One could argue how much good it does them, but that's another matter.)

I've been watching the Judicial Reform business as closely as someone who doesn't speak modern Hebrew reasonably can. It's interesting. The Supreme Court has taken to itself the power of Judicial Review, a power that is by no means universal among democratic countries. Now we in the U.S. probably invented Judicial Review based upon the existence of our written constitution. At least in theory, that written constitution limits the power of every branch of government including the judiciary. Israel has no written constitution and what is worse, there's little consensus as to what such a constitution might say if it did exist.

I am very much in favor of the Judicial Brunch being reformed to include unlimited bacon. Nonkosher? Yup. Don't care.

Not to tell you your business, but wasn't judicial review not even an idea at the time the Constitution was ratified, but SCOTUS sort of ruled that they had the power to make such rulings in Marbury v. Madison? Sort of like Napoleon snatching the crown away from the pope to place it upon his own head?

Exactly right. Chief Justice Marshall in Marbury v. Madison 1803. But the power grab survived I think because without this power nothing could restrict the actions of congress whether constitutional or otherwise. The idea of Judicial Review presupposes an objective, agreed upon constitution. Israel has no such constitution in writing and lacks the English style lengthy tradition constituting an agreed upon unwritten constitution. I do not think the Israeli Supreme Court generally behaves in an arbitrary way but Justices make law and there is also no amendment process in Israel to overrule such Judge made law.

By the way, did you see Netanyahu's crocodile tears when he fired Deri "because the court made him do it"? Netanyahu is a piece of work.

Got it, that makes sense. I didn't realize the Israeli constitution was unwritten! That seems unnecessarily unwieldy.
