Hey everyone, has anyone gone to this school for their MBA? I should clarify it is the South Carolina Aiken campus. I haven't found a lot of reviews on this school but it is accredited and the tuition is affordable. It is an online program though which I can see may turn off a few folks but thought I would ask before investing time into applying.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to DegreeInfo!

I have not heard of that University but a quick review of the program shows that it is AACSB Accredited, which is great! If like the curriculum, the professors and the tuition then I would not hesitate pursuing the degree at this business school.

In terms of it being an online degree, we are in the era of COVID and I whole heartedly believe any unnecessary bias held against online degree programs will diminish significantly since virtually every major university is undergoing remote learning of some sort. Heck, Harvard is online all Fall. My MS I am pursuing with Duke University is online. Do not let the fact that it is online prevent you from pursuing the degree. It’s not like the diploma or transcripts state the mode of delivery.

    Thank you!
The AACSB is a huge factor and the price, since I will be paying for it myself. I just will have to do a good sell job on it on my resume since I live in Canada.

For those who are curious: https://online.usca.edu/programs/mba-general.aspx

Total tuition is $14,000, making it among the most competitively priced distance MBA programs available from AACSB-accredited business schools.

SVSV, if you want a program that's a bit closer to home and thus might be a little easier to explain in the True North, Strong and Free, then the University of South Dakota is also AACSB-accredited and offers an online MBA for $15,371.40 total, assuming you meet the prerequisites.

That's a good find. I can name a bunch of MBAs in that price range off the top of my head, but not so many that have AACSB accreditation.

Not what the current temperature is but there used to be a "value discount" in Canada for US Schools that didn't have "blue-chip" name recognition. If that still is still the case, you may want to consider British Uni's.

Greg, we're talking AACSB, here. Can you show me a British Uni that has AACSB-accredited Distance MBAs for around 5,925 UK pounds? (That's $7710 US - the price of Georgia Southwestern's AACSB MBA.)

FYI - Only 10 schools on that list. Some don't have true distance MBAs. Don't think ANY offer a complete degree at anywhere near this.

    Johann,

Agreed, it is inexpensive. However, in my experience (not current), it was arguably preferable in a Canadian context to have an MBA from the University of London for 10K pounds than AACSB from Georgia. If a person is in Toronto, the Heriot-Watt alumni network is supposedly quite large... probably few Georgia alums. Again, this is if I was trying to utilize the degree in Canada and not based on current experience.

I've secretly (shhhhh, don't tell anyone) been considering the Georgia Southwestern MBA since I first saw someone post about it a while back. Other than speedrunning a competency-based degree in a single manic semester , it might be the least expensive RA master's degree anywhere in the country.

Okay - here are the cheapest (non-AACSB) one-year MBAs in UK. I haven't sorted them for distance-ed. Heriot Watt isn't on there - it's not a one-year program (well, you could try) and it costs minimum around 11,000 pounds. And the OP said "AACSB is a huge factor." There are only 10 UK schools with MBA programs accredited by AACSB - none are anywhere near cheap. These (below) ? Cheaper perhaps, but nothing like Southwestern Georgia, which IS AACSB.

Note - international fees for these "cheap" degrees below start around 10-11,000 pounds. Yeow!

It just might. A handy-dandy list of the 20 top inexpensive master's degrees didn't even mention it. It showed Ft. Hays State as the least expensive. I looked up the site and yeah, grad tuition in-state on campus is cheap - about $3400 per year. I checked further and their internet rate is about $300 per credit. If we're looking at a 36 credit master's that would work out to $10,800 - way above Southwestern Georgia. I'm starting to lose confidence in these "surveys" - but here's that one, anyway. https://www.edsmart.org/affordable-online-masters-programs/ . They say it's a survey of online programs and then they quote you on-ground tuition. ????

I can remember when the CSU Dominguez Hills MA Humanities was $6,000. Those days (and that very popular distance program) are long gone, sadly.

Yes, Greg - it would be nice to have a U. of London MBA for 10K pounds. Unfortunately it now costs 14,585 pounds. I just checked. (Global MBA - Queen Mary University, part of U. of London.) That's for a developed country e.g. Canada and US. That price is getting up there. The OP says budget is important to him - and that ACCSB is a big deal to him. So we did what we did. We're like that.

BTW We have a long-time member who signed up for Imperial College MBA. That used to be part of UoL until 2007, when it left, so I looked it up, too. 31000 pounds! WOW!

    Johann,

Peace; if a person wants the cheapest MBA possible that is AACSB and believes it will give them the utility / respect they desire north of the 49th parallel, God Bless em.
I never said that the British offerings were going to be cheaper nor necessarily AACSB accredited.

AFAIK, there aren't any. This side of the world, at least. If you find one, let us know.

Peace indeed, Greg. No biggie. As you point out, you never said they were cheaper or AACSB accredited. But the OP did say that budget was important and AACSB was a big deal. That's why I expected to find some that met the criteria. Sorry for my misguided expectations.

So good news! I got accepted into the program. I am sure there were other programs that would have better name recognition but they waived the GMAT and again since this is out of pocket, it potentially fits my needs. They have some changes to the program due to economic conditions (ie: less offerings of specialized classes) but I will take it one day at a time.
Thank you to everyone who posted above!
