AOL ran a story on the "best" online degrees. It was pretty vanilla- gave the link to the dept of ed to help rule out mills, and encouraged users to check B&M schools as well. They included a link to a "non bias" site that had some interesting stats. (lol, with ads to your favorite for profits of course) One thing I noticed is the graduation rate. We were just talking about that here last week. UoP is listed at 4% ouch. They also list "Regent" college as #2, so I'm guessing they mean Excelsior? If so, I question how reliable the rest of this is- that's quite a big over site. Anyway, enjoy. OEDb's Online College Rankings 2009: The Best Online Universities
There actually is a school named "Regent University" in Virginia. Regent University - A Leading Global Christian University
The bottom half of this list needs pruning by the market place. As an NCU dropout, I am not surprise that it is at the bottom of the list.
Champlain College has the highest graduation rate with a whopping 84%! Here's the link: click here A college with that high of a graduation rate has to have the highest quality education! I knew I should have selected Champlain College!!!
Interesting list. I have seen this list before and I wonder of all of these institutions really offer more than 50% of their undergraduate programs online (one of the criteria for inclusion).
AMU is still pretty new and has only been RA for a couple of years. AMU is probably still under the radar.
I'm finding the fact that Everest University is listed as #21 in their ranking to be a little confusing. Isn't Everest in the process of losing their accreditation? Somehow it seems incongruous that a school would receive a high ranking while being on the accreditors black list. I understand that there may be different criteria, but you would think that they would match up to some extent.
Reminds me of a high school buddy that when we were talking to some girls and one of them asked us "What's up!?" he answered "the sky". Technically correct, but an embarrassingly lame attempt at humor.
