All sorts of lists have been created on this forum...by states, by majors, etc. Thanks, Ted. However, I don't recall lists ever being created for programs by hours. Did I miss something along the way? To be brief, I am looking for 30-hour online masters programs with no thesis (RA). I have 12 semester hours to transfer. Thus far, I have found only one program that meets these stipulations: the Master of Arts in Education at Northern Kentucky University, www.nku.edu. My areas are education, English, and the humanities. Anyone in the mood or have the inclination to put together a list of 30-hour masters programs, regardless of discipline? basrsu
That is going to be difficult, Amberton University MS is 36 credits. I was able to transfer 12 credits that leaving me with 24 credits for a MS. But then I declined the idea.

One small piece of advice: I know a woman who earned a 30 hour Masters in Forensic Psychology only to discover that she was not eleigible for licensure. Sometimes less is more but sometimes less is less.
The Excelsoir MLS requires 33 units but you can transfer in 15 units so you have already completed 36% of a masters degree. The MLS does require a thesis but a thesis can be relatively easy if you take a history route - one way is to research the history of a building, community, industry, or sport* in the area where you live - lots of background can be found in the files of newspapers and local museums. Pick a topic that interests you. * One project I have in mind is to research bicycle racing in Southern California from 1895 to 1920. (Was it popular, who rode, where, professional, rewards vs. other sports, did Marshall "Major" Taylor ever ride in So. Cal. etc).
I agree... I understand...let me add details. I already have an M.A. and an Ed.S., but I have an additional 12 hours of graduate credit not used toward a degree. Those 12 hours are in education from Northcentral University, but I am having second thoughts about the Ph.D. there for several reasons. I adjunct online already in two fields--education and English. Since I already invested in 12 hours, I don't want to lose the credits. Education is the discipline that my Ed.S. is in...leadership and instruction. I am not really sold on the Ph.D. at Northcentral, and the other online schools are too darn expensive for me. Therefore, I am looking to perhaps add another masters...whether it helps or not professionally, I don't want to lose all the time, money spent, etc. from the 12 hours if I can get a total transfer of them into a short--and relatively inexpensive--master's program (or another Ed.S., for that matter). Hence, my post... basrsu
Excelsior might be your best bet in transfering over all 12 credits. Most graduate schools will only accept around 6-9 graduate credits in transfer. Tom
Prescott has a new limited residency Ph.D. in education. They also offer a MA program. I'm did not check to see if Prescott meets your needs. http://www.prescott.edu/index.html
I did not do a thesis and have never been asked about it. I would doubt this would be a factor. Just my opinion but maybe we could hear from someone who hires adjuncts?
In that case you might consider some kind of graduate certificate. Many of those programs allow you to transfer in a certain amount of credit.
