Do doctoral credits transfer?

    let's add this to the pot, i've got 95 credits for a doctoral program in psychology. i would like to transfer to another school, lacking additional graduate student loan availability any advice... lol

    Yes. Negotiate a research-only Ph.D. with a British, Australian, or African university. You won't get credit for your credits, but you can use them as evidence of your preparation for doctoral study. Expect to do the same amount of work as someone starting from scratch, though.

    Otherwise, take them to another American school and expect a few to transfer. You'll be starting over, essentially.

    In taught programs, the coursework is supposed to lead directly to your research. That can't happen if you do the coursework at one school and the research at another. You won't be prepared for the gaining school's processes, methods, expectations, academic emphases, etc. That's why they don't let you do it. (Also, they avoid the risk of taking someone who might have failed to do the research--or who did substantial work.)

    the most i've seen transfer from one doctorate program to another was 12-15. Unless you have a masters, which in that case they knock out some courses for ya.
