Could be. Ranchers are their own breed over there?

Awesome video: VOTD: Good Guy 1, Bad Guy 0

If your squeamish don't watch it, bad guy gets put down without chance for reform and all the good guys walk away. Certainly doesn't fit the liberal agenda of "all guns bad".

And vehicle ownership rates are positively and significantly correlated to traffic crash deaths. Your point?

Firearms ownership is a serious responsibility, but so is owning a car, chainsaw, baseball bat, or prescription medication. All of them can be used to harm or kill yourself or someone else, as can a firearm. I've been around guns literally my entire life, I carry one every single day, and I have yet to have any of the guns in my possession (owned or issued) kill or harm anyone.

The NRA proved with Project Exile that the way to reduce gun violence is to vigorously enforce the existing gun laws, and mete out harsh sentences to those who illegally possess guns, and/or use them in crimes.

The answer is NOT to infringe on the rights of law-abiding owners to defend themselves and their families, by passing more gun control laws (like there aren't enough on the books already) that do literally nothing but punish those who abide by the law, which by definition, excludes criminals.

Did these guys have guns? I don't see any. Plus, I can't hear audio to hear what was said.

Oh wait, I think I saw a gun on one of the guys. Then the guy kicks the gun away from the guy he shot.

That's the best counterpoint you have?

Arguing about this does no good. You're welcome to it.

    Dr. Douglas,

Well, I am not an expert in criminal and justice or research area. However, that is the common sense. You would not want to advertise your weakness? Would you? Would you put up the sign in the front of your house saying your door is always unlocked. I have seen people put up the sign, "BE AWARE OF DOG," though they don't even have a chihuahua.

I understand your reasoning, and I don't disagree, but the problem with making decisions based on "common sense" is that sometime research reveals that the world works in ways we might not expect. I mean, gun control advocates often say their positions are "common sense", even though the evidence doesn't actually support the idea that increasing gun control leads to fewer gun-related homicides.

Opinion flashback: NRA's gun-free zone myth
The Myths about Mass Public Shootings : Analysis

There is plenty more if one wants to really look.

From what I have seen in peer reviewed papers, one side states that there is a direct correlation between gun-free zones and violence, while the other side insist that there is no positive correlation between target selection and gun-free zones.

It is simply choosing a different null hypothesis, and attempting to compare the two. It will not work.

For whatever reason, there are demonstrably more gun violence in gun-free zones. It is irrelevant if it is a direct causality or not. It still happens.
