For me the problem with Lerner is that unlike other trolls and shills that have visited us in the past, I can find no redeeming value in Lerner. He seems to be dishonest to the core. He doesn't even bother standing by his own previous deceits so I can't convince myself that he even believes his own nonsense.

You're right though. It is best to try harder to ignore him. Sorry.

Just a bit of humor. It is getting hot in the attic here and we need to install some vents to cool down. Not directed at anyone.

Chili? Just a pause in the action to reflect on the good things in life. Again not directed at anyone.

I understand the frustration with Lerner but perhaps we need to ease off a bit as Bill Dayson suggested. But maybe it is easy for me because I often don't follow what point Lerner is trying to make and have given up figuring out his posts!

I'm sure it does uncle. It is a lot easier to dish out criticism than to accept it isn't it. The preacher could use a mirror in front of the pulpit just in case the preacher forgets that he ain't perfect.

I am not sure what it takes to get the pile on going, but once it gets started it is like a boulder rolling down a hill. Once someone is on the wrong side of some here they are insulted until they leave or lash out and get banned. I don't know what lerner did in some other thread, but in the threads that I have read he had only voiced his opinion which could easily be argued against without the insults. Over the line IMO.

 

It is equally important for this place to be one where those just learning about distance education and accreditation cannot be misled. The regulars around here, as is nearly always the case when people become so close to something, forget that newbies don't know who's who and what's what and can easily be misled by posts by the likes of Lerner left unchallenged. The memory of certain persons is short regarding some of Lerner's earliest posts and what he was trying to foist off on the reader in those days. His detractors keep him in check. Ask yourself what kind of posts Lerner would be making right about now if we hadn't been all over him all this time. And ask yourself what the newbie who doesn't know what you know would be making of it without the balance that his detractors provide so that every one of his attempted slights of hand and other misdirections are countered and left for the reader to decide.

Jack's right. Like a newspaper, this place has many facets. As those interested in the ins and outs of distance learning take it -- all of it -- into consideration, so does the press and any others who visit here. The message is not marred by the skirmishes.

So please chalange me on posts that talk about professional accreditation and its importance, or when I provide my opinion about WIDU or many many other valid posts with good message to the readers.

Did I made a mistake in one or two posts its posible, speccially the one i sited from my memory, the one with NACES credential evaluator using IHU as a heandbook and listing to add credibility to a foreign university, that was real and it is used today.
My mistake was that also world pier publication was used as well.
i still stand by my orifginal post, with realization that 2 referenses were used.

I think you twist every post i have posted here, you don't see the signs even when others telling you that they are not there.
