    Hello,

First off, I am new to the forum and site, and thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the service. As for Dr. John Bear, I love your book, you prevented me from attempting to get a masters from a fake, but well presented and advertised (Almeda) school, so I can't thank you enough. A teacher of mine at Longwood College received his doctorate from Michigan, and recommended your book to me. Being that I am young, and was not familiar with the regional/national accrediation acceptance, (as I have 4 accredited degrees from completely traditional colleges), I never thought twice. You and your staff provide an invaluable service to the public and are to be commended.

Secondly, I have to say I enjoy the learning experience at the University of Phoenix. They recently put a campus in Northern VA, which is very convenient for me, and I am enjoying the business cousework immensely. I have had very high quality instructors, extremely relevant coursework and I noticed they are regionally accredited (thank GOD due to the cost!). I know it's not for everyone, but for a full-time worker attempting to make ends meet otherwise, it is structured perfectly.

Thirdly, I want to eventually get a doctorate in english, as I love to read write, and I want to become a full time professor. I enjoyed the college atmosphere immensley, and would love to teach at my alma matter one day (wishful thinking :) . Can Anyone recommend a good distance learning school with an English Ph.D?

Once again, thank you all of you, especially the Bears, you are a blessing to the higher education persuit of the working adult :)

All the ones that I know are non-US programs:
    U of Kent at Canterbury
    U of Melbourne
    U of New England
    U of Teeside
    U of Wales
    UNISA
There are probably others. Good luck,
    Jack

Thanks for the kind words. I suspect Mariah, somewhere in Thailand at the moment, felt a pleasant warm feeling pass through without knowing quite why.

And it is good to learn that at least that's another couple of thousand dollars that won't line Almeda's grimy pockets.

thank you for the personal reply

Thank you for responding Dr. Bear :) Keep up all of your good work and maybe one day dipscam or a similar agency will be started again to combat all of those horrible mills. Please let me know if you ever plan to venture into the northern VA area, I would thank you in person someday. Take care and I hope Mariah is doing alright overseas, the world is a crazy place these days.

    Sincerely,
