    Terrific! More power to you!

As I said earlier, you might want to start a new thread (use the distance learning discussions section) for input on the portfolio process. You will find that it differs radically--and to your profit--from the usually shoddy "life experience" silliness used by mills as a marketing technique. Good luck to you.

    Dear Learned Man,

Well, a post addressed to me deserves a response, but it appears you have already been shown the light. Many thanks to all other contributors here - this is what Degreeinfo is all about.

Good luck with your new pursuit.

    Cheers,

    George

I like the instantdegrees.com Confidentiality Contract linked from that site:

This includes, but is not limited to publication in printed matter, books, magazines, journals, newspapers, television, radio, multimedia, Internet, websites, Chat Rooms, Newsgroups, Forums, Usenet, telephone, mobile telephone, Wireless Access Protocol, FAX (facsimile transmissions) or emails.

In the event that the Client or any associated person reveals by act or omission of action, directly or indirectly, information that could draw or could be construed as drawing a connection between InstantDegrees.com and the Institution by any means, including but is limited to information published in printed matter, books, magazines, journals, newspapers, television, radio, multimedia, Internet, websites, Chat Rooms, Newsgroups, Forums, Usenet, telephone, mobile telephone, Wireless Access Protocol, FAX (facsimile transmissions) or emails, then they shall be guilty of Breach of Contract according to the terms of this Confidentiality Contract.

Yes, the legal-speak reminds me of my fond encounter with Earlscroft. The similarities are quite astounding...quite astounding indeed.

    Cheers,

    George

This, by the way is how they define a client. "
Oh dear, it looks like I am guilty of breach of contract. Woe is me!

To pay for court expenses, I have a great idea! Create a website with a similar TOS but with an "All clients must pay me $10 dollars" clause. All those that read the message would have to pay up. :p

I have clearly not seen all university diplomas in existence. No one has. However, I have seen my share of genuine and fake diplomas, and this one has all the hallmarks of "diploma mill"-speak.

    "Doctor of Philosophy in Metaphysics"

Academically (i.e., not New Age), metaphysics is a branch of philosophy, so the degree should be awarded in philosophy, not metaphysics. No legitimate American university (and this is an American-style diploma) gives a doctorate in metaphysics. I'm pretty certain this is true for UK universities as well.

"the Esteemed and duly Empowered Board of Regents"

Esteemed? A curious word choice. Those who are esteemed (or perceive themselves to be) do not need to label themselves as such.

Duly empowered? By whom? Most diplomas I have seen that refer to empowerment state the empowering authority; e.g., "by the authority of the State of New York" or "duly empowered by the State of Connecticut."

This is language designed to impress the gullible.

". . . this award is so hailed to All and Sundry . . .:

This is just bad English style. Those who are truly "esteemed" would not use a phrase like "this award is so hailed." "All and Sundry" is trite and simply betrays a limited vocabulary.

Finally, there is a date but no place. Why get yourself in potential legal trouble by awarding the degree from a specific jurisdiction? Just leave it out.

If this is THE Buxton diploma, its structure smacks of diploma mill.

If, on the other hand, this is an instantdegrees.com mock up of a Buxton diploma, then there must be a "genuine" version of the Buxton diploma out there.

Perhaps, those who claim that Buxton is a real, legitimate university could post a digitized copy of their "genuine" diplomas so that we could view them.

One copy of a "genuine" diploma would be great. It would be better, however,
if we could have multiple copies to compare, since we have heard from "multiple" Buxton champions.

    Any takers?

:D I'll take my chance at being forced to eat my own crow and state that I doubt these academic frauds will be posting anything. :D :D
