I don't think an Executive MBA, which usually cost around $50,000 and require 5 to 10 years of corporate experience, will help in this situation. Not only will it put you further in debt but will also be a duplicate of your current MBA (to some extent).

I have already suggested a graduate certificate at your local school to give you the opportunity to network. Another suggestion is to explore executive education at your local school. The University of Tampa has a “leadership development” program that is one week long and cost about $3000. If you had something like this locally I would suggest it because it will give you networking opportunities as well as fine-tuning or polishing some existing skills.

I have also taken some classes at the University of South Florida which are two to four day courses and the prices range from $200-$800 per class (HTML, Project Management, Access, etc.) I know there are a lot of people in the class that were unemployed and looking for networking opportunities. The instructor even sent, “anyone looking for a job raise your hand… Anyone whose company is hiring look at that those people that are raising their hand and talk to them.”

If you're paying out-of-pocket and time is of the essence I would only suggest going for a solution that is low cost and immediate. If you want to the back to school for a full degree program, I would not suggest an MBA.

When looking at what certificate I would recommend I would start with the simple question of, “what do you enjoy?” Finance and/or accounting always seem to be in demand. Did you enjoy these classes in the MBA program? Have you considered specializing in operations? I would honestly look to leverage your language skills in whatever decision you make.

    Randell1234 ,
Thank you so much , that was very helpful . I think I Can't get over the fact that MBA from Strayer cost me over 30 k where I could have earn the same degree from public school as low as 6500 :( with pride on the resume . My advise to everyone " Stay away from for-profit school "

I don't think it's the MBA that is holding you back. Job experience is much more highly valued than the pedigree of your school. If you could somehow gain experience in the field you are trying to get into, you would be better off than you would be with another MBA. I don't propose to know how you could gain the experience I am talking about, however. In this economy, even an AACSB MBA will not guarantee you a job.

Also, it is not polite to bring up other member's spelling and grammar mistakes, so I apologize in advance for my next comment which is in no way meant as an insult: How are your writing skills? I notice a number of mistakes in your post. Is this just because you are being casual with your writing here? If so, no prob. However, if your resume and job applications have the same sort of grammar issues, that may be hurting you. I am assuming you are in the United States and trying for jobs based in the English language, please forgive me if that is wrong.

Having a for-profit PhD, I do not agree with the "stay away" mentality. Find the best program that works for you (for-profit or non-profit). Be proud of your Strayer degree, you have a right to be proud. My sister got her degree (BS) from Strayer and makes an amazing amount of money. To be blunt, get over it! You got the degree, you use the degree, just be proud.
