The latest National Geographic has a very interesting article on the bird flu.

I found the book "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston very interesting. I don't remember it touching on the flu, but the true stories of ebola and marburg outbreaks were chilling ..... very very scary.

Current thinking is that the military is what spread the 1918 flu. I hope they've considered that any such mobile body might well do the same with some future communicable disease.

According to what I have heard in the media it will take several months to identify the flu strain when it migrates to humans, then after that it wil take years to produce enough vaccine because it is still made that it has been made for many decades; by growing it in eggs.

Good lord Laser...get out the house sometime.

Here is a list of things you can do that might ALSO kill you:

Fall out of your car on Disney's Space Mountain and DIE
Drown while in Venice and DIE
Visit the grand canyon and fall over the railing and DIE
Ski Breckenridge, accidentally start an avalanche and DIE
Go on a safari in Africa and contract Ebola Zaire and DIE
Play Madden 2006 on PS2, go into an seizure and DIE
Fall into a vat of chocolate while visiting Hershey PA and DIE

...stop being a paranoid dillusional and believing everything you hear...

    Is WHO Crying Wolf?

    Beachhoppr,

Thank you for the pep talk. You made me laugh. :D

The truth is I don't know what to believe. I haven't accepted it as fact but I also haven't discounted it as trash.

I don't think the World Health Organization(WHO) is crying wolf. They have significant professionals that are well above our intellect.

A recent survey on MSNBC was conducted that concluded 70% of U.S. people say the government is not doing enough to prepare.

This is a little different than a ride at Disney.

    Should we expect a Laser300 in 2007?
