The latest National Geographic has a very interesting article on the bird flu. I found the book "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston very interesting. I don't remember it touching on the flu, but the true stories of ebola and marburg outbreaks were chilling ..... very very scary. Brandon

According to what I have heard in the media it will take several months to identify the flu strain when it migrates to humans, then after that it wil take years to produce enough vaccine because it is still made that it has been made for many decades; by growing it in eggs.

Is WHO Crying Wolf? Beachhoppr, Thank you for the pep talk. You made me laugh. The truth is I don't know what to believe. I haven't accepted it as fact but I also haven't discounted it as trash. I don't think the World Health Organization(WHO) is crying wolf. They have significant professionals that are well above our intellect. A recent survey on MSNBC was conducted that concluded 70% of U.S. people say the government is not doing enough to prepare. This is a little different than a ride at Disney.
